In this video we will take a look how to install the official SAS extension for Visual Studio Code (VS Code), how to configure access to your SAS Viya environment and explore all the cool feature this extension offers.
This video was created on the extension version 0.1.4 and the SAS Viya environment was on SAS Viya 2023.04.

Please note the default setup shown here will have you re-authenticate with the SAS Viya system every 90 days.

Does it only accept viya link? If i use sas studio, would that be possible?

@@cfengbme Are you using SAS Studio on SAS Viya or on SAS 9.4? If you are using SAS Studio on SAS Viya the link will work for you as well. If you are using SAS Studio on SAS 9.4 please check this link on how to authenticate: github.com/sassoftware/vscode-sas-extension/blob/main/connect-and-run.md/#profile-anatomy-sas-94-remote

Thank you for the great video! Somehow you were able to view the datasets, but I struggle to do so. Did I miss anything? I installed the SAS extension following your suggestion. Thank you!

Yes exactly, this is currently only working for SAS Viyya. There are feature requests available for this on the GitHub project: - Add Library panel support github.com/sassoftware/vscode-sas-extension/issues/680 - support for Content Navigation, Libraries, and/or the Data Viewer: github.com/sassoftware/vscode-sas-extension/issues/347
