Does Bigfoot inhabit the forested regions of northern Maine? Researchers and witnesses alike seem to think so.
Aleksandar Petakov journeys to the most forested state in the lower 48 in search of evidence of the creatures existence. Along the way he talks with witnesses and researchers, as well as Cryptozoologist, Loren Coleman about the long history of Sasquatch sightings in the state.

I had a sighting on the eastern shore of Chesuncook Lake back in 2015, changed my life. I came away from the sighting with a sense of calm. I obviously had a hard time believing what I saw, but it was undeniable. At about forty yards, It was crouching over at the waters edge , looking like a stump. Looked up at me, stood up and slowly walked into the woods. I,to this day, am struggling with this. I love adventuring in Maine, I just have now accepted the fact that we don’t know everything, Cheers

Damn that's interesting & very similar to my experience but mine was in Florida in the swamps. Easter Sunday 2016 just went through divorce & had no easter plans so I tried to access a hidden lake I found on Google maps to do some bass fishing deep in the woods. I reached a dead end filled with short over grown palms & lots of thorny vines in the trail & tried to quietly go under some vines when I stepped on a fallen dead palm frond & the Crack sound echoed & somebo😊dy took off running away from me. I couldn't see so I kneeled down low almost on all fours & see two brown/reddish hairy legs running about 15 yards away & lost sight of it after about 5 or 6 steps but could clearly hear its steps as it wasn't running directly away more at an angle away from me. Then I heard a huge splish splash splash etc. It had reached the lake & started running through the lake & almost sounded like it dove in or something. I hung around for all of about 30 seconds frozen in time before deciding I didn't want to fish that day lol & still can't say what it was but it effected me in a way that I'm still trying to wrap my head around. Never reported it or told anyone other than a few close friends either

Story of the Durham gorilla is fascinating because my Grandfather, who was a registered Maine Guide for 53 years use to tell a story of seeing a giant Gorilla while hunting in remote eastern Washington County. He said he thought it was the biggest bear he ever saw, until it ran off on two legs like a person would. Described as 7 to 8 feet tall.

I can see why a bigfoot would feel at home in a place like this and why he can blend in with the environment so snugly.

I live in Maine. We own a cabin on a small island on Lake Moxie. Late at night in the summer time it can get eerily quite. So quiet it's almost deafening. It's not uncommon to wake up in the middle of the night to the sound of a loon or owl. But over the years I've woken to other sounds. Strange sounds. Eerie howling and moaning. And wood knocking could often be heard with it. It would always happen late at night between the hours of 12 and 3 a.m. It's a very unnerving and creepy thing to hear late at night! Especially when you're way out there by yourself and there's no electricity. It will often times be pitch black inside the cabin and outside. Experiencing something like that telling yourself it's not a person much less a known animal of any kind makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up!

@@austintrousdale2397 Sure, I go into the woods alone most times. I have a hunting stand about 15 ft up in a new growth area in western Maine. I am a bird watcher and many times I sit with my eyes closed to try and identify birds by song/call. A few times everything went really quiet and the feeling that I was not alone came over me to the point where I was expecting to see a black bear or coyote pack. Although I never saw or heard anything, I left the area.

I did not think I had but after hearing hundreds of people’s testimony on Bigfoot case files and how to hunt channel (both RU-vid). I realized I had had an encounter where I heard their chatter and their circling behavior. They tend to circle you if your still or parallel you if moving. They will chatter with each other if in pairs or groups. 20 years ago wilderness camping I heard the chatter and was circled for two hours at least. It sounded like a group of drunk men hollering and talking. For years I thought that’s what happened even though it would be very odd behavior for a human. For a Bigfoot it’s normal behavior.

I grew up going there almost every summer…a handful of yrs ago I came up to help my friend move her horses to her sisters farm in Massachusetts…she was having extremely aggressive encounters…hence, her moving the horses…started with taking of her horse feed…(she called it sweet feed?)…she locked it up in a marine box…it was then literally ripped apart…also horse’s alerting her…they were terrified…to the point she couldn’t calm them…her encounters were very similar to others I’ve heard about…she had it in a water tight barrel and the first night she bought the barrel…it was gone the next morning…just gone…no way someone could pick it up and walk away…certainly not a bear…literally gone…so, you are absolutely right…they are there….the final straw for her was an attack on one of the horses not 3 but 4 deep scratches on the rump of the horse…I’ve read about 3 scratches happening…not 4 deep on one side and 2 on the other…

@@saraparisi4676 Carrying off the barrel, vs chewing it and damaging, is where theft by something with hands becomes evident. A bear would chew the heck out of the rim of the barrel to get at what is inside. Admittedly, plastic 55 gallon barrels are a hot commodity in rural New England - so human theft is possible... seems like your sister certainly has something paranormal going on, though. My experience was at under a hundred yards, and it was undeniably a bigfoot. It stood there at the edge of the wood line, and did the most perfect "Ohio Howl" at me... I'm fairly certain it was directed at me, unless he didn't see me. As a Master Maine Guide, lifetime hunter, and former infantry scout-observer - I can absolutely state it was a sasquatch, and nothing that was supposed to be in the woods according to "experts ". For a few reasons, I stopped guiding, and now have a quiet job on a university campus. I'm much more careful in the woods, and always go armed. Back to your sister's encounter - another Master Maine Guide, and my neighbor at the time, saw what he described as a "Werewolf" while he was deer hunting. I think Maine has a few cryptids in those dark forests... he was very shaken while telling me. Thanks for your sister's story!

Yup-! In fact, it seems with all of the 'CSI' type TV Shows around the world, people are -- as I am too, fascinated with the 'process' of doing things ... That said -- these guys came well prepared technically with the exception of some mentally stimulating lures for the Curious Sasquatches out there. Just a baby bawling, a wood knock here and there and a Country Song wasn't that enticing, me thinks. In the future, I'd bring things that will make these creatures to WANT to investigate. That and the unlimited choices foods and treats for the Bigfoot to snack on. The late, great Mitchell Waite (of the Mogollon Monsters of Arizona) used to put out goodies like Oreo's and candy. And them sweet toothed Sasquatches went for it. In any event, what these guys did and do to propel Bigfoot Truth makes a difference and most certainly, it matters. Keep at it, Comrades-! D.A.

I really enjoyed this show. It’s the most I’ve ever heard about Bigfoot in Maine. The only thing I would have changed is the amount of time spent following an unproductive search. I’ve watched many Bigfoot videos on RU-vid over the years, and I can see how hard it is to actually try to find one by just heading out to a likely area. I have found that many people think Bigfoot know what cameras are and will avoid an area that contains them, even if hidden. Also, tree knocks are a warning so they may come close to see what the trouble is, but stay hidden. The baby cry from the water I’ve never seen before. The blueberries in a wet spot and the tobacco seem like they were worth trying. I’m no expert, just very interested. There are so many sightings, I know these creatures must exist. I appreciated seeing another area to explore

I think they can detect all of our technology but we can’t sneak up on one of them regardless of what gear we take, however there is some compelling video and photographic evidence not to mention the auditory evidence. The Patterson film is an anomaly. Maybe they disguised their approach accidentally being on horseback. Sasquatch would certainly know what a horse sounds like and know it’s not a threat. At some point they figured out that we had a way to capture their image & got the word out ( maybe they have a newsletter or something) they adjusted their behaviors and became very hard to film. I think for the most part most encounters are 100 percent on their terms. You have to try to get footage right?

Alex, I just watched this video again a second time. As usual, great job. It's unfortunate that people who view these types of videos always expect to hear or see something, but realistically it's really a rarity for anything to happen. As most of the quality researchers like Yourself, your friends and few others on here, You all take a holistic type of view point and are patient with Your approach. To many times most of the other researchers freak it seems like every time they hear a twig snap. Bigfoot is an elusive creature it seems unless provoked possibly by trespassing or protecting its family. When will be coming to Maine again? I've posted before on here. Very interested in seeing this..I investigate in NWCT and have had many many of interactions with Sasquatch.....NewEngland has allot going on, but only one problem noone likes to talk about their interactions..CT is 60% forested and further North you go number grows..Hopefully this year with the addition of some high end cameras and being in a habitation type environment we will get the footage...GITW

I poke around NWCT as well. There is a guy who owns a cabin up there that has documented his interactions with Sasquatch in his book "The one who runs and hides" My boys and I are headed up to the NY/CT/MA corner to hike and camp next week. Apparently the campsite we are hiking into gets some activity. A camper recorded a very clear wood knock. It's on his hiking website.

Echoing others, incredible effort you guys put in. Threw everything including the kitchen sink at attempting to capture solid evidence. Have you guys put up the camp surveillance in the NW? Would love to see that. Absolutely love the drone footage. Beautiful scenery! Don’t take this the wrong way, but I don’t sleep well and the calm and peaceful footage helps me go back to sleep. Don’t worry, I always go back and eventually finish watching the entire episodes. Keep up the great work!

FYI You don't have to go to the middle of nowhere to look. Back in July 2015, I saw a sasquatch in clear view in Weston, Massachusetts... Standing next to a abandoned railroad track in the Weston Town Forest. This sighting took place just 12 miles west of Fenway Park.

My brother has been a a logger for over 35 years and has stayed at the Telos (spoken Tee-loss) camps. He has walked many miles in the woods and has driven thousands of miles in the woods and has never seen any signs of a Sasquatch. If they do exist in Maine they are dam good at hiding!

I always kinda chuckle at these types of research excursions. I love Small Town Monsters and your documentaries are excellent. Super well done, production, information and entertaining. But I always think, sasquatch is the ultimate apex/alpha creature out there. Bringing all this equipment and knocking around playing baby sounds (in my belief) is not going to attract a sasquatch to present itself to you. They are likely aware of your presence the minute you step into the woods. Also, with all that equipment, I personally believe sasquatch is able to detect or sense the electromagnetism or frequency of electronics. That is why hardly anyone has caught really compelling photo or video evidence on trailcams. Just my 2 cents. Great video though.
@tomtalker2000
@tomtalker2000 3 года назад
I TOTALLY agree with you...!!! The Squatches are fully WELL aware of human presence before you even realize it. Trail cams simply DO NOT work with them. We are a "higher being" and yet we use such antiquated methods in going about this research. The Squatches must be thinking are you kidding me if you think your gonna catch me out in the open.

Amen brother very well put- I will add the definition of insanity according to Albert Einstein is doing the same thing and expecting a different result and isn’t that exactly what all these knuckleheaded dip shit so-called BigFoot researchers or what I get a kick out of is when they’re laughingly called bigfoot “experts“ … they are actually only experts in not finishing the eighth grade or acting like it… I myself am much less kind towards the dimwits who continue to do what has proven to not work for eons… You’re absolutely right, These beings or SABE are not stupid And in fact are vastly smarter than us when it comes to the wilderness and likely everything else as well and they are also Not apes. What are they? I have no clue nor do I claim to nor do I want anything to do with dip shits pounding on trees and acting literally insane and doing insane things I used to like big town monsters but they’re proving to be part of the dimwitted group and they’re not even close to going in the right direction at least not here yet… although yeah it’s be cool if they did but I Don’t hold my breath it would require too much thinking and intelligence and I don’t think they have it or they certainly haven’t shown it yet… Sorry to sound so negative I’m just stating facts and it’s assholes like this that completely ruin the potential for vitally needed credibility with this topic. As such screw them

Not true!!! Every experience is Different.. 6 of us ADULTS Got Responses from blasting The Sierra sounds Out over the tops of the mountains, That we were on. We IMMEDIATELY Got A TREEKNOCK @ OUR 6.. Then DIRECTLY In front of us comes a Amber Colored ORB FLYING through the sky right above the tree tops towards us & hovers in front of us as if it was observing us! Then it traces the tree tops and slowly lowers it self behind the trees until it disappeared!!

Cool to see Maine and Maineiacs! Lol. Plus, familiar faces. I've been into Bigfoot since I was a kid. My first sighting was in Canyon City Oregon next to where I live now in John Day. Since then, I've had seen 2 more and seen and heard them or seen tracks, wood knocks, and tree snaps, rocks thrown, and once a boulder. Between Oregon and Idaho. In Maine, I was paralleled back in February 1990, approximately 2:30 a m. ,taking a short cut on the railroad tracks between the Monroe Rd and the Back Winterport Rd in Winterport Maine. It was off to my right in the tree's on the hill. To my left was wetlands. About 3-4 feet of snow. My coworker seen a boulder fly from the brush out fishing with her then police officer husband. She said it splashed in the river 50 feet away. Nearest town was Washburn Maine. Michael Merchant aka. Snow Walker Prime, has some great recordings and videos about Bigfoot. I'm familiar with Chris Julian. He's done a lot of cool stuff in Maine. Ghost, Bigfoot, and paranormal. Wicked Good guy! Loren Coleman's, International Cryptozoology Museum is a must see place! The North Maine Woods is a great area. Thank you all of you for your hard work and producing this documentary. 🦍👣

*3.5 Million Acres is large piece of geography, even by Texas Standards, the thought stretches my mind.* Professional Production, and the articulate descriptions are a most enjoyable listen. I never thought about Moose being a part of the Nature of Maine. My mind goes straight to Native Americans, our early American History, and the environment of fresh air, cool water, Fishing Industry, and *Maine Lobster!* Well done Channel Host. ...and I listen more for the "Story", but realize and appreciate the effort that is involved. Beth Tennessee, USA PS: Game Cam's relative to the Subject here, a Sociological Perspective with subject awareness Game Cameras appear to be overwhelmingly feudal. If one is looking for "the 8 - 10ft tall bipedal", they are/would be far too intelligent and intuitive, they can see + feel energies relative to the Cam's and their sensors , (they have an intuitive sense that recognizes the energy of Game Cam's). We refer to intuitive in animals as "instinct", but truth/fact be realized, the Plant and Animal Worlds have Consciousness, they also literally communicate with a far more evolved talent or gift, than the "Ego-Minded aka Lower-Mind/Adolescent-Mind of the Modern Human", whether it is a Species weakness or far more likely due to our vast attention on, Training, the learning of, Socialization in our Environment and Cultures, which allows for us to Communicate in Audable, + Visual: Written and Art Forms. *We absolutely have "the capability of Thought, sending and receiving, of communication, but due to the "Paradigm, its Academic and Social ideaologies" the associated "false conceptions" are what disables the abilities.* *Individuals whom choose to apply Conscious Thought + apply the Higher-Mind/Mature-Mind and apply a "Standards of Science and Research" open mind, not hindered by any: (*)beliefs, ideas, opinions, and/or Theories, + (understand and stay Conscious of the "Universal Law of Attraction"), are fully aware of the vast potentials that exist in the Individual, Group, Collective, of the Modern Human.* (*) this does not intend that one must be absent of Beliefs or Theories, rather that "when focused on a given subject, to set these aside in order to consider and ponder the greater potentials w/o being constrained in/by a Belief or Theory. (Clearly not as easy as one may think, as the "Mainstream Academics" can provide as an example: they are not able to master this, relative to their Belief in a Theory applied as Fact: the "Darwinian Theory and its Paradigm" being their foundation of fact and measurement for all their works, particularly those in Archaeology, Anthropology, and History.)

Great show. Thank you for sharing this with us. Yes, there not a lot that's easy about untouched Maine forest. When we use to pick berries, we would talk to each other and some would sing and some just carried *bear bells* (that undergrowth is wicked thick). Question: Do you think that Roger beep should be turned off on your 2 way radios.? You can still use the call button feature if needed (because someone's volume was too low).
