I'm sure there were others besides Itachi, Shisui, and Izumi that don't have the curse of hatred. Itachi should of spared the ones that do not have the curse and even innocent children and pregnant women that were related to the ones that was in support of the rebellion. In this what of scenario, Zetsu shouldn't of told Obito that Itachi died in front of the Sasuke retrieval team so that Danzo and the two advisors will still believe that Itachi is still alive and Danzo won't harm the ones that were not in support of the rebellion.

Sasuke feels like the only way to honor his brother and freeing them of the hate is to destroy the village. Of course, Sasuke realizes this to be untrue but the shock and anger in that one moment is too great for anyone to feel compassion or hope

Cosmos_ Null So if someone sacrificed themselves to save your life, someone who you held dearly died due to the influence of an external medium, a society in fact, you'd just basically disregard it as nothing worth getting revenge over? It's not about just Itachi, it's about him as well. He knows that Itachi was loyal to the village, to the point where his actions only did nothing but benefit them. Just look at what Sasuke's experience with him after the massacare. Sasuke doesn't understand WHY Itachi wouldn't get revenge for what the village did to HIM and their CLAN. Sasuke was a literal by product of repeated cycle of hatred and lies. And even then, Itachi himself admitted to attempting to FORCE Sasuke to be the hero, not acknowledging the fact that he essentially set Sasuke up to become the man he is. Sasuke made the choice to destroy everything Itachi risked his life for because of their pain and suffering, the clans extermination, the village deserved to be destroyed after what they did. Simple as that
