It depends if you celebrate a holiday instead of just gathering the family, coloring snow with lights and giving gifts as a special yearly occasion. Christmas is very different in different countries/families, and not every country/family celebrates it like the commercialized/Santa version. We basically celebrate a longer thanksgiving during Christmas.

I have a solution to this, remove ALL religious symbolism from the premises, or include all, and I'm sure that is the mode of thought that went through this. We don't go to heaven because us humans are not spirits and regarding the Firstfruits, they will be of the Kingdom that will soon be established on the earth whereas Jesus would rule, sitting on the throne of David. People won't be going to Hell because Hell isn't the Lake of Fire.
