swiss001 makes better stock footage for swiss airlines than the airline itself... of course only when he doesn't deep dive into the ground with engines off.
Although Xplane has 10 times as many planes as MSFS I still won't change simulators, one reason is that MSFS just looks better even with no addons and way more free planes and satellite scenery, so you don't have to do all of this stuff to get it. Or maybe I'm wrong idk ALSO DONT SPAM ME WITH HATE THIS IS MY OPINION
@@munastronaut8147 yeah i agree too gamy in the saturation and over processing , looks un natural , the scenery is pretty great though , except ground level
Ortho4XP 1.20 is a quite an old version. You should do it with 1.30, there the UI is a lot more user friendly in my opinion. Also, there is an option to make specific areas in bigger zoom levels - thats a must near airport areas.

This also doesn't keep the seasonal and sound data from the original DSFs
Looking at the video title literally made me think that the community brought an add-on or something to "stream" satellite photo to X-Plane. Ortho4XP is a great add-on which I have been using it for 2 years but it just takes too much of space. I hope someone creates an add-on of "streaming" satellite images in the future.
There have been programs that once streamed the scenery into X-Plane. As far as I know, they had to stop because the terms and conditions for Bing and Google maps don’t allow the usage of their content for certain commercial applications (unless Laminar pays for an API key). Ortho4xp works around it because every individual generates the tiles privately on their own.
I spent a lot of money on Microsoft flight simulator. I started flying sims in the 1980s. Microsoft was kind enough to stop supporting FSX. 10 years later, they come back with a great product (what they say). They expect me to buy there garbage when they might not support it in the future? X-Plane 12 all the way!!! You've won me over for life!
Visuals in MSFS are in a completely different league🤩 Of ourse they use a completely new technology to recreate the whole planet. A digital twin of our world. Only possible thanks cloud streaming. Fantastic job from Asobo and Microsoft👌🏼
Yep - now if they would just work on getting rid of their obvious "diversity and inclusivity" agenda, it would be really swell. The way they have populated all the airports with female and non-white tug operators reeks of a social agenda, and it's anything BUT realistic - what an immersion killer. Even worse is that Osobo puts these same "diverse and inclusive" ground personnel everywhere at tiny, non-commercial general aviation airports where no ground support people exist in real life, regardless of gender or skin color. It's that kind of garbage that led me to give up on MSFS and uninstall it. I'm not in Osobo's "perfect world", I live in the REAL WORLD.
Bro can you make your x plane 12 like msfs2020 Use anything but make xplane like msfs2020 And can we use bing map for xplane i don't no iam just asking
I was wondering if ortho worked on XP12. Thank you. MSFS is pretty, but ortho is a nice segway between the gap in graphics. I find the flight model of X-Plane far superior, especially after flying the real world counterparts in comparison to MSFS. This is great, thank you.
lol no flight model is not far superior. Not one real world pilot has ever said that when comparing top quality add on aircrafts of each sim. Slight better now maybe, but the gap isn’t as substantial as the fans tout it to be.
@@jollyrioger2572 So is that speaking from a pilots perspective or a simmers perspective? Yes the in-game flight model is superior. MSFS does a great job, but fails in some fairly obvious ways in aircraft handling. Thirty party, external flight model add-ons are a complete different story. Most of the best addon's rely on external models and libraries to get the aircraft to behave as it should outside the limits of what MSFS does natively.
@@jollyrioger2572 Both X-Plane and MSFS have great payware addons that push the limits beyond the sim's native capabilities. I'm far from a fanboy. I'm speaking from native, stock aircraft and the way flight characteristics are modeled in the sim. MSFS had came a long way from the days of P3D but it's still got some things to get right with it's flight model. It's a vast improvement over prior iterations but natively falls short of what the real thing feels like in comparison
Two years sgo I spend much time making my swiss ortho4XP texture. Had to mix goggle with bing or US texture and correct everything with photoshop. Some area are desaturated, some city have different colours etc etc. Half terabyte space only for Switzerland. I loved XP11 but ... MSFS is much better for VFR and also for airports. In Switzerland after only two years there are almost all airports avalaible free or pay. Colours in Switzerland are bright even in real life. I am a glider pilot flying from LSZL and find MSFS scenery much better and realistic. Flight dinamics slightly better in XP but not that much.
I "Shortcut" ed all my Ortho4px files to X-plane 12 from 11 - took 5 min. My 15 TB of World tiles ported over fine using shortcuts. Remember to also copy and paste all mesh overlays and ALL accompanying files. Save yourself the issues of install issues and buy xOrganizer v3 - will simply identify your issues and get you into the sky....
And this is why people have a lot of respect for MSFS. You don’t have to do any of these add on stuff to get ‘’nice’’ scenery. The ground textures look awful
Swiss001, how much thousands of dollars you spent on X-plane 11 addons? Then, how much on MFS2020 addons? Then X-plane 12, same as X-plane 11 since they will maybe work?
Why does everyone compare the scenery between X-Plane 12 and MSFS, and why do we care so much? Personally, I think that the scenery of X-Plane 12 is a huge improvement over 11, and is good enough in most places. And, keep in mind that MSFS is made with an astronomical budget by a multi-billion dollar corporation, and X-Plane by a small business. We're comparing an ant gill to a sprawling city here. Stop complaining so much about rather nitpicky things like scenery. Also, the software was just released into early access. It's not finished. Hell, it won't even render properly on my computer. So, please, stop arguing about scenery. It hurts the community.
@@FSAviation I'm not a fanboy, thank you very much, I actually enjoy MSFS more. I just would like if this endless debate would stop. We're comparing apples to oranges here.
@@FSAviation classic example of babies whining in adult's book culb if your fine with MS go plau it yourself no need to come and ruin the party pathetically.
