Really nice, I'm studying these wonderful and haunting dances. They're not as easy as they seem to be at first... but they're lovely and you just can't stop playing them. Go for the third now! Thanks for posting.
My goodness there's so many magical notes in this piece, each seem to tell their own story. Beautifully played, must be very satisfying to play some of those golden parts
I think he's finally starting to get the recognition he deserves---hopefully, more people will continue to hop on the Satie wagon! Thanks for watching!
Wonderfully played, really compliments. It reminds me the sea waves... I'm wainting for the third one, the most cryptic of the three Danses de traverses.
For past 2 years I've been listening to these pieces before starting my day give or take a few days. Your interpretation of these pieces are amazing, you do Satie justice. Very nice, Thank you
Bueno, felicidades caballero, esta versión es mucho más congruente con el espíritu de las piezas frías, ese talante un tanto melancólico y elegiaco de Satie.
I've gone back and forth on this quite a lot. Some pianists (like Aldo Ciccolini, for one) play these very quickly, and others play them pretty slowly. I've just found that the slower versions tend to bring out the texture better. Since Satie didn't write any indication of tempo, I guess it's up to all of us to see what works best. Thanks for the input---I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderfully played. Found this in a book of Satie I've got. Definitely going to learn it now. :D Oh, and for everyone asking where to find this online: look it up on IMSLP. (IMSLP is wonderful for finding any public domain sheet music. So...a lot of piano repertoire. Google it; youtube doesn't want me to post a link.)
I think I got them from an online sheet music archive as an undergraduate. If you do enough snooping around online, you'll find something--they're public domain at this point, I believe.
@dannydemanny He's still looked at as an odd duck of sorts, I think. He's very broadly accepted, but his weirdness (thankfully) hasn't depreciated with time.
@PomBare And over a year on and I can finally play this with some satisfaction. I've uploaded it if anyone wants to see. Not as good as this though ^. I don't know how you played it without hitting a wrong note. I couldn't manage to play the two pieces together and still managed to make several mistakes.
