Following hot on the heels of his acclaimed 2nd album 'Solar Nights' German producer Tim Bernhardt, AKA Satin Jackets, returns to bring some much needed warmth to the winter with the release of the 'Golden Cage' EP. Featuring three brand new instrumental tracks, the 'Golden Cage' EP sees Bernhardt venture into more introspective territory, eschewing the more upfront pop direction of recent collaboration with Panama, 'Electric Blue', for something softer and more intimate.
'Meridian Gateway' delivers the kind of optimistic yet wistful melodies that Bernhardt has time and time again shown himself to be a master of. Built around a series of poignant piano notes the track gently unfolds and reveals itself, shimmering like the first frost of the year catching the morning's rays.
Whilst 'Solar Nights' showcased Bernhardt's skill at crafting thoughtful left field pop music and coaxing the best out of lyricists and singers alike, the 'Golden Cage' EP reveals he's still a dab hand when it comes to crafting dreamlike nu-disco, as warming as a mug of glühwein in midwinter.

Another masterpiece of sensuality in the SJ-collection. All the many masterpieces of Satin Jackets can not be reduced just on music. For me it seems, that Tim has the key to learn more about us and our lifes while hearing his music. In any case he is able to relay valuable feelings like no one else. Love the beat and bass guitar but vocals would have been a touch round off ?! Add vocals and I think it’s perfect, love satin jackets and followed them for years, this does seem different though, have to say.....thanks for sharing, but your earlier stuff is blindingly good and does set you apart from the others 😇 ..... While this is good, songs like "Just Like You", "Mirage", "Northern Lights" to name a few, sounds signature Satin Jackets. You can tell that it's Satin Jackets just by just listening to them. While growth and change can be good, the recent two releases hasn't given me the same result. I say this with all the love for Satin Jackets, but those original touch in the songs I mentioned is what sets Satin Jackets from other artists in this wide and noisy industry.
