Two minutes in, and I'm already overwhelmed. I've been picking up bits of Unstable Quantum Crystals here and there thinking they're just needed to unlock the systems. I guess I'm going to have to find those deposits somewhere.
I did a poor job explaining things. Maybe once I finish a few more episodes I'll do a clearer tutorial. Last series when Nexus was first released and I was trying to learn myself without any resources I was super overwhelmed.
Yeah, the Nexus stuff is *so* good that it basically obsoletes all other transport methods - at least for me it did when I tried it, I can see how it might not 'scale' well if you're doing Massive Megabase builds. Sluggo Farming is a pretty fun element of the mod, though! At least once you get the hang of it.
It's a little old but post-U8. I didn't let Epic update the game and I didn't let SMM update my mods. I turn off my network adapter to force epic to launch in offline mode, then load my game in offline mode and I can still play. 1-2 weeks, I'd guess. SF+ on U8 is available for the dev's (KMods) patrons. Though I am a patron of theirs, I haven't had time to try it out myself, yet.
I wish I would have done that but busy with work I didn't realize U8 was out yet. I'm at Aluminum now and my god you literally get buried in everything needed for it. @@BEDplaysGAMES
Great, another episode 🙂 Looking forward to see how you get everything running with the Nexus. I totally skipped it in my own game (well, until I needed most of the parts for unlocks......then to quote Homer Simpson: "DUH!!!!") There are a couple of pure dirt nodes in the rocky desert, not so far from the crystalcave so it is possible to setup production of crystal frame thingies in there, although it gets a bit tight fast. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! I'm afraid that the nexus is going to remove so much of the logistics portion of the game that I'm going to fly through and finish the whole rest of the SF+ content in just a few episodes.
@@BEDplaysGAMES Well, considering how much stuff you need for space elevator parts and future unlocks, I wouldn't worry about finishing the game anytime soon 😁 6 million+ cobaltplates....so much fun
I didn't even know there were quantum crystals in that cave. I've only done one 60+hour play through of Sat Plus and started in the Dune Sea so I was getting that crystal from the cave just south of the Titan Forest in the NW Swamp on the border of the two biomes.
@@BEDplaysGAMES that playthrough inspired me to try plus out in the first place. There were so many new things it was all a little overwhelming at first.
I'm enjoying it so far. There were a few sections I had a hard time focusing on because of the formatting of the footnotes to main story...but I'm glad I stuck it out. I saw this book suggested on reddit as a horror read for Halloween time, with many suggestions saying to just go in blind. So that's what I've done. I can't even tell how far through the book I am, since it's full of so many mostly empty pages. And at one point I was sent via footnote to the back of the book to read the letter's to Truant from his mother and I swear I read more pages at the back of the book than I had at the front. But anyway, all that to say, I'm really enjoying the story and can't wait to see what happens next. I was just joking to my wife last night that it would have helped if I got a bunch of stickers, tabs, and sticky notes to mark off the sections of the book, the appendices, the exhibits. I've never read anything like it.
@@BEDplaysGAMES yes it’s truly a unique experience! I love reading but this book was by far the weirdest I have ever read. The formatting and jumping to other pages is just crazy! But I enjoy stuff like that. I’m currently reading Don Quixote and you can tell that it was written in 1604. it’s super different from most other books I’ve read. And I’m reading it in English as a German…. That together with it being written such a long time ago makes it’s honestly really hard for me to read haha but I’m sticking with it!
That's awesome. I literally just bought Don Quixote and The Count of Monte Cristo. They mention both at the start of House of Leaves and made me think, "it's time I've read those." I can't imagine reading books in another language. I'm trying to learn french and I'm reading le petit prince which is over my head!
I’ve only played on U7 so far. I’ve not allowed epic or SMM to update so I can force the game to launch U7 in offline mode. But you’re in luck! SF+ is supposed to release tomorrow for U8!
I'm using some work-arounds to force the game to stay in U7. I run the game using Epic, and I turned off auto-updates in Epic so it wouldn't automatically update my game. I also turned off updates in the Satisfactory Mod Manager. When I want to play I turn off my network adapter in settings, force Epic to launch SF using the SMM in offline mode, then load my save in offline mode. I can then turn my adapter back on and continue playing. I'm not taking advantage of this yet, but since I'm a Patron of the mod developer I have access to the beta SF+ for U8. If you're super itchy for it, you can sign up for their patreon for one month to gain access. Otherwise I think it'll be another 1-2 weeks and it should be released.
