Satisfactory Review (Early access) - Worthabuy? 

Just a quick note, I mention three planets but it's actually three different biomes on the same planet :)

You gotta revisit this one Mack, it's an INCREDIBLE game!

You forgot to add that it is actually cheap and with no microtransactions.

Great review. I don't normally like these games as they get more and more complex, and I start to lose track, but this one looks great. And I feel that old Mack is back - glad you're sounding better, man x

What really made this game stand out for me is the initial animations and GUI look so clean and well made which, for me, plays a huge factor in my overall feel for a game.

I joined Satisfactory some 4 or 5 months ago. It's fun to watch an old video about this game and see how much has changed over the years. Some of the machines look completely different. I can't wait for 1.0

The starting "planets" are just different areas of the same planet, you can get to the other areas no matter what you pick, it's a very big world

I have to add that Satisfactory runs very well on my lower end oldish machine too. I was expecting a big factory to bring my rig to a grind and halt, but no, it just keeps running like a champ.

Thanks for the recommendation - off of your review I bought this game and man is this game good! Throughout my 30 hours of game play I have been thoroughly challenged. I would say the game is well rounded and feels very well developed for an Early Access.

I told my friends I have a date with an attractive girl. They told me she was imaginary. Jokes on them because they are too.

It's such a awesome little game, am loving it so far . Have just built the space elevator and am working on that now with my mile long mile wide factory :), watching it all work in tandem is so satisfactory ;).

I'm loving this game right now. Easily have sixty hours in already just since last week. If you're one of those people who obsess over having things perfectly lined up, logic puzzles, or crafting games, this is for you.

@Worth A Buy Great review. Thank you. I play and enjoy builder games but one thing a lot of them lack is a "why?" You end up with an awesome spaceship or fantastic castle and think "well what do I do now". For instance, can you form a company in Satisfactory, and then trade to make money? I mean to say, what is the goal?

This is almost what I wanted from Subnautica, more base building, with potential almost like Minecraft. I like the corporation feels of all the sci-fi tools and tech in this, kind of like Subnautica, but this really scratches that different kind of itch. Also, the Jet pack should just have a height limit, or have you have to keep activating it. Or even better, make an upgrade youhave to earn for it, but that fuel limit is annoying. Also also, you should be able to build pipes for oil.

Would love to hear about Outward from you Mack.

It is worth a buy, i just don't want early access, i want full game so i'll be patient and not touch it (much) until it comes out (also by then it should be on steam)

This actually looks pretty...satisfactory

One of two games I got from you vaguely previewing it. After your preview of this and another RU-vidr playing first hour or so I pre ordered having missed the sign up test. For a game of its complexity and Gfx I am super impressed with where it's at for an alpha with 1 small patch since. Yes we've had a couple of crashes and some coop minor bugs that can work around, but it's so playable and do much fun. Dropping in and out of my game and friends, including my 66 year old ARK addicted dad who I bought it for, is immense fun. I've not seen dad play anything else in well over a year other than ark, but this has him hooked. We're only at tier 4 pottering about for about 20 hours and into steel foundries now. Unless the devs screw up massively this can only get much better. My wish list includes ability to name storage containers, simple but would be helpful when 2 of you are working on separate bases to the same goal. If you're intrigued by Mac's video and others then get it. Under 2hrs play and you can refund too. What you got to lose? (don't include hours of your life in your answer)

Can't wait for Mac to review Outward and hear his rage :D

This game is awesome. Definitely worth the buy. Who gives about Epic? You will forget about Epic when you are lost in the world of Satisfactory! Love it!

This looks class! I would like to see monsters attack if you dont build turrets etc and walls. Also the pop up needs work. I feel combat could be improved and give weapons to vehicles and have them patrol. Very well explained though. Thanks!

Mack you need to revisit this game, it's changed alot.

It seems also that the game is always online. Every time I start a new session, it creates a multiplayer instance. Hoping there will be a completely offline mode added at some point down the track.

I was watching some youtubers play this and it looked good at first then I was confused, so thanks for this video as I have now made my decision.

Really like the concept, graphics etc, however I will hold out until they make more of a TD of this with more opponents, if not I think it is really a missed opportunity.

Yes it worth to buy, already 170h in four weeks (30$/170h, compare that to a cinema ticket !). No critical bugs, no microtransactions, just pure fun. Proof that a small game compagny can do better than major ones.

I just saw that one of this game's developers had a meltdown on twitter because they only sold NINE copies on the Epic store. I laughed my arse off :-)

What is it about building things in games that gives people (guys especially) that sense of satisfaction? I spent 4 hours last night playing Pharaoh and built an amazing, highly efficient city and I enjoyed the whole process - setting up trade, making my industry and workers travel precise distances, making it look good. Whether it be a game like this, a city builder, building a base in an RTS..... building and planning seem to be a "thing" I am into and have been since I started PC gaming.

I used to love these types of games but I don't have time for them anymore. I get much too involved in them and they end up eating all my precious downtime that's usually devoted to the main shooter I'm playing at the time. If I ever decide to play a factory builder/survival strategy type game for something different, it's going to be Frostpunk all the way.

Hmm right now this just seems like a less convenient Factorio.Placing stuff seems awkward and walking around and collecting in third person seems tedious. Being able to build vertical does have potential though. Let's see how this one turns out

Unfortunately, resources tend to be guarded by very aggressive hostile creatures. Using the rifle, rebar gun, or explosives tends to be the safest way to dispose of them. Unfortunately, my game frequently crashes after despatching one of them, resulting in me making a mad scramble to save the game in the very few seconds before the crash occurs. This has been an ongoing problem for a while now.

Mack I also have only ever wrote down a plan for two games, this and elite.

Still ain't buying this unless/until it comes out on Steam.

I wonder if this game will feel shallow compared to factorio because it's in 1st person. I played the alpha for about 30 miniutes and didn't get very far and got frustrated at all the frame drops because I need a new CPU.

It's basically fallout 4's build mode with the contraptions dlc and improvment mods. :') Edit: there's also a lot of really cool mods for minecraft (back in the day, not sure if they are still around) that were basically this game with crap graphics.

Time to revisit this Mac
