I didn’t expect to hear those words today & I didn’t realize just how very much I needed to hear them. What a powerful video this was! It is JOY to see a Mom who has her priorities in order. Your love of God above all else & the way that you so clearly love, cherish & value your precious daughters & husband far, far more than your house are part of what ‘set you apart’ & make watching your ‘thrifting, home-making & intentional living’ genuinely valuable (pure treasure) to me. P.S. Do you think that it would be helpful for someone (J😉) to make a simple stand/bracket to mount on the back of your spice rack in order to make the rack lean back enough to keep the bottles secured? 🌺Philippians 1:3🌺

Your house is normal, everybody has messes, and the good thing is that you tackle them. Your family is more important than a clean house, so it’s great that you have balance.

Kristen it never ends! Lolol. My husband and I are empty nesters and I now I clean up after him! I am not going to lie but sometimes I don’t feel like cleaning up after myself. But today my husband came home and left grocery bags all over after I had a spotless kitchen. Arrrrgh! Ok I still love him and because of him I have a beautiful yard😄🌸🙏

I guess what I'm trying to say is you stay true to yourself and go with things you love.I get so easily influenced by todays trends. I thought I should change my decor style when farmhouse style became popular, because I thought my style was outdated so to speak. I look at everything about your home and it reminds me of how I use to decorate and I miss it so much. I love your videos and your family !!!

Kristen, when my 6 children were little, I just laid fresh matching dish towels over the chair seats>……..just toss them in the wash daily, if needed

A fun thing to do with kids, pick Queen Anne's Lace, cut stems at an angle, fill vases, mason jars, with water, then put drops of liquid food coloring in the water, then add Queen Anne's Lace and watch it change colors. So much fun. You do have to add quite a few drops. You can also use daisies.

I would answer, what? Much appreciation for blessing my Sunday! A thin strip of elastic (comes in clear also ) stretched across the front of the spice rack shelves and then tacked to the sides or back will keep the jars from falling off, and will be easy to get to and put back.

If you are leaving the spice rack against the backdrop on your counter then you could take off the back wood strip to get the bottles to fit better!.They will not fall off since the wall is there!

My Dear Kristen: I love how real you are - your home is lived in, happy and full of love. My Mom (to 7 brats) and one hard working husband, had a plague with a Chinese proverb on her wall that read : My house is clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy. That same plague served me well.... being a single (for most of the years) full time working Mom to my two kids (who are adults now).

if the jars dint fit to your liking, you feel like the are too wide to sut comfortably, you can make a shelf insert that is the depth you want out of very thing wood and just glue it on the existing shelves if it is bothersome to you..

The wildflower bouquet is gorgeous! I love your home - dirty and clean. I wish I could send you some of our daily rain. It’s the rainy time of year here in Northeast Florida. You and your hubby should consider setting up a rain barrel to catch water for plants, washing cars, etc. Love the spice rack. You can put eyes on either side of each shelf, then tie a thin piece of cordage to the eyes in front of each shelf of bottles. That will keep them from falling off. Blessings!❤

Kristen, thank you I so needed this. Even though I am retired, my children are your age or possibly older, the mundane house chores can become overwhelming when we let them slide. Ughhhh it truly can be a struggle. However, I know I am so incredibly blessed to be retired, own my home and live in an amazingly gorgeous place; the mountains of Western North Carolina. My hubby and I moved here permanently after a few years of back & forth to our home in Florida; where all our kids & grands live. The adjustment has been a journey in itself, but we travel back & forth to visit as often as we can or are able. My hubby has cancer & sometimes Drs get in the way of our plans. BUT GOD!!!! He always comes through when I am lonely for family in the most amazing ways. Just like me finding you here in You Tube & get to enjoy visiting with you & your family. So, hang in there, unfortunately the house chores…they will be there forever, but your sweet babies won’t. I love seeing you stop & spend time with them in the middle of whatever you’re doing. The dreaded porch room , everybody has one somewhere ! One day you’ll clean. Up and it will stay pretty clean for a fairly long time , but it will be because you’re children are no longer living at home for various reasons , the down side is you ‘ll wish they were there messing it up again . Smile and count those beautiful little blessings .

Hi Kristen! Thank you so much for this video. I love how open and honest you are about showing real life, especially with kids. I have a preschooler and have been *very slowly* going through decluttering our home and cleaning + organizing all cabinets and drawers, etc. on top of prepping her for transitional kindergarten (homeschooling). I'm just going at it little by little one day at a time and it's taking a long time. Really appreciate you normalizing what real life and real homes look like and that there's no such thing as perfect and quick for everything all the time. You are amazing. Cheers! P.S. Your children are all amazing at playing independently while you work. Do you have any tips on how to encourage this? I'm a mom of just 1 so no siblings to distract, trying to work on encouraging more quiet time/independent play. P.P.S. Might you ever consider doing a video on back to school /fall prep and or "day in the life"/routine with you and your daughters? Move those little horizontal pieces of wood up so they are where the neck of the bottles are. Simple and you can do it with a small hammer.

Kristen check into lead in your vintage dishes. I have been a huge collector of dishes my whole life, only to find out a lot of dishes have lead in them. Having grand children I don't think it's worth the risk.

You can fix the spice rack by taking off the back slats the bottles lean against and put a small spacer where they are attached to the sides.
