those cuts in your videos are so good and placed so well- like when you tightened your wheel, so satisfying all this content going progressivly and it doesn't get boring big like for gud vids
Get those pads/rotors bed in before going on any more back road excursions. A “squishy” pedal feel won’t get better on its own. It’s from air in the system, but if you didn’t open the system you shouldn’t have any air. Once you get a layer of pad material transferred to the rotor the brakes will respond better and give a better pedal feel. This might be what you are experiencing instead of a squishy pedal. This is why bedding in pads/rotors is important after an install. You’ll notice a difference during an autocross or track event. It also prevents an uneven layer of pad transfer resulting in pedal pulsations often confused/misdiagnosed as rotor warpage. Oh yeah, torque your brake components.
I love the fact that the lugnuts matched the base color of the car. Also I have been watching you for awhile and it never ceases to amaze me how great and funny your videos are. Keep the vids going man!
On the rubber cover you use either the caliper mounting bolt or a slide bolt in that hole and if your rotor is stuck you thread it in and it will help get the rotor off if it's stuck
Not gonna lie I have geomet drilled and slotted and performance pads on my big ass 4400lb boat and they really help. Buddy has them on his s4 and it really helped his single piston setup out.
I've been running R1 as my brakes for just about 2 years now. My only complaint is the dust, but that's a given because of using the performance pads. Other than that, they're fucking great.
Strange coincidence but I just bought a Z to build a drift car with and it has the factory Brembos but for some reason the previous owner also thought it would be smart to paint them red. Lol just went though the same experience with the red pads.
You should get a junkyard LS truck engine or the one like he is in a Camaro SS and put it in the Zoe because if you look at Mike Mike at his 350 it is very nice and it sounds very nice and it makes pretty decent power where you can beat some of Gavin's cars
@@Zorbii I don't know how much it would be but I am just saying it would be nice and you also have more content for the channel because all the ups and downs you can just keep on posting videos
Currently running z1 stainless lines, geomet slotted rotors from R1, and stoptech sports pads (for daily and spirited driving) love my current combo setup makes a huge difference from blanks and duralast pads and stock lines that the previous owner had
I literally put R1 rotors and pads on my z 2 days ago lmao. Also just fyi, they might feel spongy cause they need to be bled, also there's a break in procedure on R1 concepts website for new pads and rotors, probably not completely necessary but I did it and my brakes feel much stronger/touchier than before.
I plan on bleeding the brakes soon. And I figured they’d get better after being broken in. That’s probably what I’ll be doing off camera before the next AutoX
Well if you decide to give them a shot, use the code "zorbii20" to get 20% off. The code wont be available forever so might wanna act fast, but I'm hoping to eventually get one of their big brake kits for the 350z. Until then, I wont be giving these pads/rotors any mercy. You'll be seeing how well they hold up to the abuse for sure 😂
The fluid overflowed because you should have a full reservoir with new rotors and pads, as they wear down more fluid goes into your hydro system, when you push the pistons back apart to get new rotors and pads on it will go right back to full given there are no Leaks. You shouldn't need to ever add brake fluid
What about removing brake fluid now? 😂 I'll get everything cleaned up and get the fluids back to normal. Brakes are just something I never got around to because it wasn't super necessary.
Have you looked into getting a new diff? To end those one tire fires, i have no idea how much they cost, but i bet it would be a big help in autocross and drag racing
That makes sense. If you look on R1’s site they say that there’s actually no right or wrong direction I just found out. There’s just a recommended direction.
i use the old break pads and a clamp and push the piston down so its easier to do. but i have a 08 ls impala and a 07 jeep liberty so it could be different in other types of cars... And nice socks lol
I love doing brakes. The only reason you hate them is because you're trash at them. Take the whole caliper apart use a c clamp and brake pads to open the caliper back up after you open the master cylinder. Taking the caliper apart also makes it easier to put the pads in.
I like to do some hard braking to break in the new rotors and pads. The company I got my brakes from tells you to do a few hard stops from 50-20 and 30-0.
@@Zorbii ya there's two slide pins that are also bolts and you can undo. You should of put some Anti-seize on the slide pins. Because if they are stuck they will make your pads ware uneven
I did not. I never disconnected a brake line so there shouldn't be any air in the system. The brakes still feel good too. I'll be bleeding the brakes at some point soon though just to make sure that there's no air in there.
Tires will probably come starting 2022. These can still last me for the rest of the year. they're just getting to the end of their life on heat cycles.
That's actually just how I've always done it. I honestly just thought I was removing the entire caliper. I thought they were just 2 pieces. Next time I'm in there I'll definitely try it the other way and see how much easier it is.
Try doing rear brakes on a newer vehicle with an electric parking brake, RU-vid saved the day on that one. How to put the rear brakes in maintenance mode, wtf is this bullshit
@@Zorbii Good luck. I’ve used R1 rotors on 2 different cars (blanks on one and slotted on the other) and they both warped within a few thousand miles with normal driving. Never again
I use the drilled and slotted rotors, on the mustang and Camaro it’s been maybe 2 years? On the genesis couple a couple months. I drive the other 2 cars like they’re supposed to be driven and I’ve never had a problem with them
I’ve heard good and bad about R1. As with almost any company I’ve ever gotten parts from. There’s a lot of factors with things like this so as long as I don’t have issues with the company itself it’s normally not a big deal to me. Sometimes, shit just happens.
Brake rotors don’t warp. Major misconception about “warpage” and runout. He’ll be fine if he beds his pads in and doesn’t exceed the temperature rating for the pads.
@@Zorbii braided lines or not, that's a definite no go. Wire or zip tie it to a component on the car or rest it on a jack stand or hell, even a tall box. The one thing that definitely needs to be treated with care are your brake components. They protect not only you/passengers but others out on track/street.✌️
