Satmar Rebbe Celebrates Baal Hatanaya's 200th Yahrtzeit at Chabad of Palm Springs

The Satmar Rebbe Of Kiryas Yoel Rav Ahron Teitelbaum arrived in Palm Springs on Sunday December 30th for a 3 week visit. As has been in the past several years the Rebbe would Daven during the week at Rabbi Denenbaum's Chabad House in Palm Springs, CA.
Sunday Jan 6 / Chof Daled Teves was the Baal Hatnaya's 200th Yahrtzeit. The Satmar Rebbe a descendant of the Baal Hatanya sat down after Sunday morning Shacharis together with Rabbi Denenbaum and others to say Lechaim and speak Divrei Torah in honor of the Yahrtzeit.

For anyone who can understand Yiddish, it is worth listening to the Rebbe's comments carefully, as he relates lots of fascinating historical information about the history of Chassidus and the feud with the early misnagdim.

The rational worldview is that all things are ultimately explainable by science and reason, it is not afraid to say "I don't know - yet". Other worldviews tend to involve a creator "moving in mysterious ways".

in hebrew/yiddish it means the owner of a house or the master of a house, or of servants. not related to the Cannanite Diety at all.

yes i can see how it would seem odd. but language is full of these similar sounding words that dont mean the same thing, both within single languages and accross them. i wish there were subtitles for what this rabbi is saying.

@tantorain. This is the last segment. The TORAH was not created for the YAHUDIM but ulimately for all the nations (like Ruth, a Moabitess) who would be drawn to the LIGHT of ISRAEL. Because TORAH is light. The Yahudim were not doing their job, and were kicked out of the land.

Wow I can't even imagine sum1 not speaking Yiddish having the PATIENCE 2 watch the entire video 2 even GRAB that the word 'Baal' had been used lol, personally I'm fluent in both Yiddish n Hebrew (plus [sadly] the Prik talking is my cuz] n I only made it 2 the 5min+ mark ;p up until THAT point its a pathetic convo abt the thickness n evolution of kosher ritual slaughtering knives (Chalif) n how their thickness was shaped/graduated (I know pathetic lol) Understanding just THAT made it sooo borinG
