Tim shares his expertise, tips, and tricks on how to make your rear fender install perfect. Also with the help of some pre-made tabs, bungs, and mounts from Lowbrow Customs and a DIY Sissy bar kit from Gasbox he shows you how this job can be easier than you think. So break out those welders, grab a beverage and let's get to welding.

In honor of Todd, Tim should say "whoa, Nelly" at least once during this series. And he has to say it as something unexpected happens.

Is Todd still with us?!?! I miss hin

@@irishguyjg_2ndchancerecovery Yes, Todd is still with us. Sometimes I call the Lowbrow Customs tech number and ask Todd a question I kind of already know the answer to, just to chat with him for a few minutes.

A random "whooo" wouldn't hurt either.

That is really a super clean lower fender mount.😊 It makes it almost appear like its floating everywhere but the teo upper mounts which are both really clean as well🤘

Great video! I can stand when people build bikes and the fitment is wrong.

Is there any problems using a conical head like you did near the frame / lower fender when the slits are not shaped?

Use a button head carriage bolt to mount lower fender mount to frame.

I am to anal i would have had to take a dremel or something with a bur bit it the drill press and put a concave edge around the bolt slots for the rear fender lower mount haha thst way those angled bolt heads would fit nicely down in the mount so they appear more flush haha bit thats me my OCD would est me alive if i didnt 😅😊 the wife and i love the saturday sportster series they have both been awesome and completely different. I like how the first series was a more unmodified build that anyone could do it some wrenching skills and still make their bike look amazing and then this series is a step up with some more of a custom build to it🤘 ❤

he checks in a later episode when final welding.... spoiler, this one has ample clearance and didn't need cut. We do end up cutting the bottom to match the frame rail again, in a later episode.

I thought the idea of Saturday sportster was not having to weld or need specialty tools. Why not weld on a rigid rear section rather than a bolt on if you’re going to be welding your brackets onto a fender?

We wanted to step up the difficulty a little on this season but no go full blown fabrication. Welding a few tabs here and there is a lot different from welding a full hardtail section. We also have a wide variety of Bolt-on hardtail and wanted to showcase one of those. It allows you to keep your frame the way it is and you could technically go back to a swing arm if you ever wanted to. 🤗

i was gonna ask about that bolt on hardtail I like swingarm choppers cause I like shocks but that has a great look with less effort hopefully ya's do a vid on that soon!

@@lowbrowcustomsis there any bolt on hardtails for 1990's sportsters? I cant find any im assuming cause the frame cant support it?
