I've just started a re-listen to the Bobiverse series in preparation for the 5th book and in the early parts of the first book Bob decides to do a flypast of Saturn because it was always his favourite planet when he was growing up. The first time I heard that, I said out loud, "Me too buddy. Me too."
I love the fact that in was planned to send Cassini off to Jupiter after it's initial mission. But they decided to stay at Saturn because there was still so much to learn.
I'm sorry, but, "rings around Uranus," will always be HILARIOUS! 😂 "Uranus released a giant gas bubble, discovered in 40 year old Voyager data." Is a classic as well.
That thumbnail made me think.. If dark matter had different types that reacted with themselves but not other types, I guess they could form intersecting rings like that. I guess we have fairly good measurements of how smooth those halos are?
Yeah. They get pretty thin in places. But some shoot up like mountains miles high. They also have a few moons within the rings themselves. I'm more interested in the hexagonal shape at the pole.
