They really created Saturn to be one iconic character. The fact she is not a « main » character even in S (though Hotaru is a main character) and that she is not appearing in any of the movies makes me love and appreciate even more the time she is featured. I love how Minaguchi Yuko is voicing her. This little arc in the Stars season was such a pleasure to watch. It was animated perfectly here and since the last season wasn’t broadcast on French tv, I only watched this back around 2002/2003 and it was a new world for me. A new found love for Sailor Moon in its original version. Nothing can top the Japanese voices.
Sailor Saturn doesn’t get much screen time because she is not normally supposed to be awakened. Her job is to destroy whatever evil entity that threatens the solar system if all else fails at the cost of her life. She is essentially a nuke/reset button that was feared and misunderstood by the other senshi. Also, the final season didn’t get English, French and Hungarian dubs because of the lgbt themes and “nudity” present.
@@quantasium exactly her whole story is based on her being the soldier of destruction and rebirth . only appearing when earth is threatened by outer evil forces like in season 3 and 5.. but in movies we don’t know if the enemies were from our solar system or beyond but I would have loved to watch her in the S movie…but it was made before her appearing. Missed opportunity. There was no French dub back in 97 because the tv program where Sailor Moon was broadcast got cancelled.. so a lot of anime back then didn’t have a proper ending.
Saturn definetly is the most strong, powerful sailor. She has the power of deah, even if it is a double edged sword. She can be reborn. It was even intimidating when she pointed at Nehelenia.
Sailor Pluto is also strong, she has the power to make time STOP, and of course it will also bring huge side effect to herself. I think the 4 outer soldiers are much powerful
vale Sailor Moon with her Silver Crystal was the most powerful when she lit up the entire Galaxy, Sailor Galaxia was the 2nd most powerful Sailor Senshi & Sailor Saturn was most likely the 3rd strongest because she can destroy an entire Solar system. Doom Phantom with the Dark Crystal was probably the 4th strongest, although it's often considered to be a rival to Sailor Galaxia & Sailor Moon. Chibiusa is probably the 5th strongest as long as she has the Pink Moon Crystal & Princess Kakyuu is probably the 6th strongest.
I like the manga, Crystal, Eternal and Cosmos of Sailor Moon better than the 90'S anime because it shows a sign quote "Accept the things you cannot change, have the courage to change the thing you can and have the wisdom to know the difference". Serenity prayer to signs of consequence of making mistakes but we can always fix things to make things right no matter what with courage and wisdom with the power of love can make thing better han before with new powers have friend you love be reborn and awaken from revives from sleep will always triumph over evil Sailor Moon says no matter what. The prayer shows what happened in the manga and Eternal backstory of the moon kingdom were Queen Serenity sealed Nehelania away inside the mirror with power of silver crystal but this was a mistake of sealed her away though it was the right way instead of destroying her but this was wrong that would lead to consequence because Nehelania but a curse on her daughter Serenity would but the doom the Moon kingdom which is to Accept the things you cannot change but now is up to her daughter Sailor Moon to make up the mistake to fix things to make things right to destroy Nehelania by having the courage to change the thing by using the power of Silver Crystal, the holy grail and the power to her friends she becomes Eternal Sailor Moon, she defeat Nehelania once and for all and restored everything which now has the wisdom to know the difference with power of love no matter what and why I the Manga, Crystal, Eternal and Cosmos of Sailor Moon it makes sense about everything the Serenity prayer to signs of consequence of making mistakes but we can always fix things to make things right no matter what with courage and wisdom with the power of love will always triumph over evil.
Everyone Else: How dare you do this and that and whatever! I won't forgive you! In the name of whatever, I will punish you![Pose] Sailor Saturn: [Silence Glaive to the throat] BITCH, I'M NOT THE ONE!
That’s why Sailor Saturn is probably my favorite tied with Sailor Venus! She. Doesn’t. Play! Uranus is probably the most disciplined even if it makes her blind to an alternative choice like in season 3, but even she gives the speeches and poses but is a huge hard ass who puts up with 0 nonsense! However, Hotaru makes her seem like a goofball compared to her. There’s no bullshitting around! It’s just straight: “I will flick ur head off with this glaive with just a flick of my wrist. If I die, oh well! So either knock this shit off and get somewhere and sit down, or die. That simple!” She’s a complete and total bad ass!
Chibi moon saving Sailor Saturn at the end made me cry. I have a very similar personality to Sailor Saturn, with a self-sacrificial element...and Chibi moon just reminded me of the people who told me to take care of myself and hurt myself no more.
that may be, but.. she basically doomed both herself & Sailor Saturn herself with that incredibly unthoughtout idea which ends up for some stupid plot armor BS writing that the manga sadly does too often to end this first part of Sailor Moon Stars which feels imo worse then the season 4 finale where Nehelenia be like "...I don't wanna fight anymore. I need my rest. LEAVE!"
While yes everything does work out in the end, Chibi Moon really did a reckless move by risking the future by stopping Saturn from finishing Nehelenia.
@@who4440 Okay? Maybe I give Sailor Moon Crystal another try because I was fairly disappointed with season 1 & 3 and had to SLOG myself through season 3 because of all the continuity, logical or even rewriting (aka "MoRe FaItHfUl") changes. Plus the music also wasn't.. comparable really, like the 90s anime was pretty round on that note alongside the dub in my country being pretty faithful, sometimes a bit too faithful, to the japanese dub. With too faithful I mean like some names when looked at through hiragana, katakana, kanji whatever were sometimes directly taken with some S, R or V errors in it. Also that dub got changed after season 1 to another broadcasting station so Usagi and Mamoru got different voice actors with the old Usagi VA returning in season 4 as Palla Palla (or Para Para).
I think Saturn was the only one nehelenia was actually scared of. She couldn't scare her with mind games and Saturn was more than willing to die to kill her if she had to. I mean with one attack Saturn destroyed her whole palace. If chibi hadn't been there it would have been bye bye nehelenia
@@hohinput2749 I'm not sure. Hotaru received more attention as either a civilian or an unwilling villain than as a Sailor Guardian. I feel that Saturn herself was written well, but that she wasn't given much freedom to act as she was supposed to (especially compared to Uranus and Neptune who usually got to show us at least as much as they told us).
This is an interesting scene. Since chibi moon comes back from the future to help sailor moon as instructed by Neo queen serenity (usagis future self) it's implied that this happened before and Neo queen serenity is just letting history replay itself. But in this scene it comes more off as this never happened in the original timeline because if the future was actually in danger in the other situations then chibi moon would of started to disappear then too.
You're mistaken in the original timeline Stars Arc never happened, Dark Kingdom, Infinity and Dream Arcs were the only ones. Chibiusa and Neo Queen Serenity influenced in the past caused events to play out differently. Chibiusa made the past guardians fight the Black Moon causing Pluto to be involved then NQS made Pluto reborn on earth in the past to give her a better life. SM meeting her future self cause Hotaru to survive the fire, the differences in how events played out caused Saturn to be awakened. NQS took Saturn soul out of Pluto seal and fasten her rebirth and gave her to the outers to take care of giving Saturn a better life. In the Dream Arc Chibiusa isn't the promise maiden (Usagi is) but she became Helios little maiden without her Helios would've still been fine because Mamoru or Usagi could easily wake him up. Chibiusa powers is the same as Usagi but Usagi's powers are way stronger and Mamoru have similar healing powers so Chibiusa isn't need. People need to understand that Chibiusa is literally getting a front row seat of her mother's journey. Because the Dream Arc played out differently caused Mamoru and Usagi powers to light up the whole universe attracting the attention of Galaxia therefore giving rise to the Stars Arc. Usagi wasn't supposed to face Galaxia in this life. Only when the Stars Arc happen is when the future was truly in danger and during the arc we know the future was destroyed. Chibiusa was the last indicator that the future was intact but when she cease to exist showing that their future was no more but Usagi made ultimate decision at the end and revive the timeline. (Manga) The Manga lore is a lot more complex than what we think.
@@alicepie3660 Which means in the original future. Sailor Moon never became Eternal Sailor Moon. She became Super Sailor Moon and then Neo Queen Serenity. Makes sense since Super Sailor Moon looks very similar to her NQS Form. And it's implied that Super Sailor Moon was the Messiah ie Neo Queen Serenity!
@@alicepie3660 I believe Usagi revived the original Timeline without Chibiusa. This explains why we see the Inner Senshi in their base forms, and not their Eternal Forms. Their Base forms is the future of NQS. The Eternal forms is the future modified by Chibusa and Usagi. Once Sailor Moon destroys and revives the Galaxy Cauldron with Silver Moon Crystal, Eternal Power? She revives the "original timeline" that was meant to lead onto Crystal Tokyo, and then eventually the Black Moon Arc.
No one can beat Saturn she is the strongest one and we saw this even more clearly in the Crystal. Outers are more powerful, brave, cool than the inners and no one can deny that because they are more experienced. In the series they cleared that and we all learn that they protect the solar system from outers. Moreover they all have items to fight which is show us their power also. They have talismans and Saturn has a scythe. Anyway Saturn is the strongest rest of them is meaningless. :D:P However i love Uranus and Neptune the most than Mars =))
Saturn is the strongest of the planetary guardians but unfortunately, she isn't the strongest sailor scout. It would have been logical to give her the power to eliminate everything with the price of sacrifice but that is not it. Sailor Galaxia (even without her evil parasite) is the most powerful, and for some reason, her powers have no cost. In my opinion, Sailor Saturn should have been the ultimate weapon more powerful than everyone but with that price.
If we talk about Sailor Senshi Sailor Moon is the first most powerful second is Saturn because of the Destruction, Sailor Moon can bring all life forms because she is the guardian of healing also, she can heal anything even it was destroyed that's why Saturn is brave because she know Sailor Moon will bring back them like in the First Chapter Sailor Moon used the Healing Stick then they got back, then when Sailor Moon got her Silver Crystal she can possessed powers. On the Galaxia episode someone talk to her I know it it's not Chibi Moon, it is her future the Cosmo Preview, Sailor Moon is the Princess so definetely she is strongest then Sailor Saturn, Sailor Saturn can rebirth and bring destruction, Sailor Moon can heal and bring back all life forms and any destruction that cause by their enemies or Sailor Saturn... In the episode of Sailor Moon Crystal Anime you can see their Sailor Moon used the Healing Stick to bring back all the effects that caused by the destruction...
I like the manga, Crystal, Eternal and Cosmos of Sailor Moon better than the 90'S anime because it shows a sign quote "Accept the things you cannot change, have the courage to change the thing you can and have the wisdom to know the difference". Were the anime writers using this plot line to suggest that this was Chibi Moon's last appearance? Even if timeline with her existence was secured, we never saw her again, anyway. I know that this is the anime and not the manga and that this was the final season, but still. It hits harder coming back to this, knowing that this is the last time we truly see Chibiusa...
Your right the future was secure and chibiusa training was finished there was no reason for her to return to the past. According to the storyline of the 90s anime even if she did return she wouldn't be of any use. So there's really no reason to put her in the story after Nehelenia was defeated. There are outside reasons but in terms of storywise this is it.
@@alicepie3660 The only thing that I would have changed was how she left the show. Once the Nehelenia arc was resolved, Chibiusa just vanished. I guess they didn’t want to retread old territory (since she actually tried to leave before Nehelenia returned). But, it felt like her final departure was mostly overlooked. For as much as she kept coming back, I thought that Chibiusa would have stuck around until the end of Sailor Stars. I don’t know what I would have rather happened, but going from an episode that had Chibiusa to an entire arc without her so suddenly just felt off-putting. It’s like going to bed on Monday and then waking up on Wednesday.
@@kamentrainerhorn2073 Yeah it seems off putting now that you mentioned it. I didn't give it much thought since chibiusa contributed little to nothing in fights which sucks because she's Neo Queen Serenity heir, holder of the silver crystal yet there are many times I wonder 'why is she even here?'. Let's be honest chibiusa power level is crap but to be fair the silver crystal lost its importance after season 2.
@@alicepie3660 I don’t disagree. Her mom’s not much better, either, in my opinion. But, what separates Usagi from Junior is that she holds the Silver Crystal, the one thing that justifies her own strength as a Guardian (aside from her persistence). It’s even more insulting when you think about how Usagi wasn’t allowed to use her super finisher without Chibiusa calling Pegasus to pull it out for her. The much more versatile Inner and Outer Guardians (except Saturn) had to depend on their Moon Princess, who in turn needed her trainee daughter to speed dial a horse to play fetch!
@@kamentrainerhorn2073 Yes, that was so insulting that it's portrayed as pegasus is more powerful than sailor moon the holder of the silver crystal which is the most powerful object in the universe. In that season usagi maturity took two steps back, her behaviour match that of season 1. What was also annoying is that chibiusa could call pegasus normally she didn't need a dumb bell to do it and when she did her attack through the bell it was utterly useless. The was absolutely no point in giving her a bell. Chibiusa being in usagi attack was laughable, I thought they would've made her shoot some light beam out of the heart shape part on her bell but nope they have her clinging on to usagi's shoulder. They did everyone dirty in the season 4. Chibiusa is not my favorite character but I wanted to see HER power grow and it didn't. Tbh her guardian training feels incomplete.
It's kinda mad that Saturn just called Chibi Moon, not Chibiusa. Come on! They were really close friends! We don't see them as a best friends anymore in Stars!
Mistress9 Tomoe They still maintain their friendship, but when they’re transformed, they usually call each other by their sailor scout names. This is universal for all of them, not just Saturn.
@@Richard_cage_official ideally Netflix, but if you don't subscribe to it, try your luck to find here if anyone has been kind enough to upload to entire movie (albeit temporarily before it's being forced to be removed).
I always assumed that Jupiter and Uranus were physically the strongest and Moon, Pluto and Saturn were powerful magically. And Mars and Neptune were more spiritual/psychic based
Saturn is definitely the strongest outer senshi power wise, she would have destroyed nehelenia...nehelenia was actually scared of her. No other senshi scared her, not even sailor moon
I think the episodes with Nehelenia in Stars were unnecessary. She was boring in SuperS with her obssesion to stay young and beautiful. Chill out lady and leave others alone... I wish Saturn could have destroyed her.
She had a way more interesting backstory in the manga and was irredeemable. These episodes were just Toei fixing the screw up explaining how the Outers came back in the story/Sailor Moon’s upgrade.
Those episodes with Nehelenia were necessary for the Outers to comeback, specially Saturn, once again for the battle with Galaxia, even Galaxia explain this in the last battle
Speak for yourself I love nehelenia in 90s better than manga she is boring there and does absolutely nothing while her story in the anime is more beautiful and gives us more time to understand the character and two it was not the reason to stay young and beautiful forever that made her hate sailor moon it was because sailor moon sealed her with the golden crystal
