Saturn vue 2.2 liter alternator replacement 

Thanks so much for this upload. My saturn just died on the street near home and it was obvious it was the alternator so i got it done on the street after having it towed in front of my house. My Saturn is 2003 and has 340k and is still going somehow. I absolutely love it. Have been trying to buy a new vehicle for 9+ months and am having a hard time, because the reliability of my Saturn just makes it hard to let go and compare. Im afraid to buy a new car and have it break down on me:/

Good vid. Save the old alternator it is cheap to rebuild prolly the diode pack at fault. Then you have a spare...

Yup. The Light on my sister's vue Same thing. Only 11.8 volts at the most. It would come on then go off then come back on.

What if you change battery and alternator and still have problems

You have any issue with lifting the motor after removing the mounting bolt? Removed the bolt and when I use the jack it just lifts the whole car.

Good video, thank you on detail on what to remove, i.e Air cleaner and ECU. So far, a bit frustrating GM design without a 3/8" breaker bar. None of my other tools fit between the tensioner and the frame, and no hole in frame to reach tensioner! Thanks to the Lord Jesus! = I used a floor jack and a wood-handled wire brush upward to raise/relax the serpentine belt tensioner. Old alternator is out. -J in Tucson, AZ

Does your alternator have 2 wired coming out of the back of it? Mine does but it looks like theere is a spot for possibly 4 wires so im wondering if im suppose to have the 2 or if there should be more? Im having to replace my altenator about every 9 to 12 months, so im trying to figure out what could be causing it?

May be doing this in the near future as my Saturn battery light is coming on occasionally. I see people with the 3.5 on here having lots of problems with replacement alternators. Has this one been ok? Thanks for sharing.
