Snehal Dabi, Aditya Srivastav, Sushant Singh, Sanjay Mishra, Neeraj Vohra had good supporting roles & now are well established actors. Thank you RGV & Satya team.
This is what I would call a good interview to celebrate 25 years of Satya, most of them involved in the film are here. Not like what was done recently by another channel with 4 people present and mostly speaking abt Bhiku and his wife's scenes???
Satya is an absolute gem of Indian cinema. Sad what Bollywood mafia did to RGV. RGV's fall can be seen with the utter garbage that comes out of Bollywood these days.
My father took me to this movies when I was 8-9 years old.... and all I still remember is for a month or a year..... I use to say.... Mumbai ka Don kaun.... Bheeku mathre...... interesting thing is my father was also a don...and he looked like Kallu Mama... 😂
watched satya for the first ti e today, and directly was recommended this video. Hats off to the team for pulling of this project considering all the hurdles. What movie shoul;d i watch next?
Manoj Bajpai fits a jazz band as a soloist to the 'T'. The guy just loves blowing his own trumpet in every interview, esp the part about Ramu's reaction when he realised that he's the same guy who played Maan Singh in Bandit Queen. The irony is that Ramu's own insight about that is different. 😅
@hitarthdesai2759 : Commendable effort bro! Never thought I'd see and hear Gerard Hooper talking about Satya. Hoped to see Mazar Kamran and Editor Bhanodaya too. More than a decade ago, Anurag kashyap had written a piece of blog about Satya on Passion for cinema. He and Saurabh had missed their flight from Bombay to Hyderabad. They took the next fligt and went to Ramu's farm house in Hyderabad. Ramu called his errand boy and said "Bhiku, teen coffee". Thats how Manoj Bajpai's iconic character got its name. Nevertheless, this is a fantastic effort. Can't thank you enough.
In an interview with Anupama Chopra...Mr.Ramgopal Verma shared a funny instance about him... that after watching these guys having fun during the somg sapne me milti hain....he was feeling to be a part of that Gang.
This is one of the sad reality of Indian cinema. Plenty of highly talented actors are forced to do small unimportant roles. If they were in hollywood they would be doing lead roles. 🥲
The scene where Satya for the final time comes to see his Vithya and he begs her to open the door and she refuses in fright & anger, while the Police guns him down and he falls dead at her feet, as the door opens, while she sits on the bed watching him in tears & dismay is a scene so disturbing it haunts you. Pure genius minds whoever who wrote this end scene.❤
OMG!!! They also got Gerard Hooper, Apurva Asrani, Anurag Kashyap, JD Chakravarthy. 😍This is WAY better than what Film Companion achieved in their segment of 25 Years of Satya.
Really liked the documentary. Wish Urmila Matondkar, Shefali Shah were also part of it too. Also the music directors- Vishal Bharadwaj and Sandeep Chowta , who I believe did the background score of the film.
Thank you :) We tried to get all of them but sadly they couldn't fit in their schedules :( But we tried our best to let their contributions and significance somehow reflect in the film.
Saw this movie in a cinema in Vile Parle sitting in stall with my friend. Couldn’t get a balcony ticket. Best thing ever, there were people sitting next to me who made the movie watching experience a 100% move pleasurable. A masterpiece 🙏
Chander the loveable childish gangster of the Bhiku gang was a darling too & who can forget the perpertually n constantly high lawyer of the gang, Chandrakant Mulle he was so good. Truly a good actor n a well written role.
I was rewatching it the other day and noticed for the first time how in the newspaper montage scene one headlines is shown on the newspaper that is used as a plate for bhelpuri :))
Having grown up watching the 70s & 80s crime thrillers from the Mumbai film industry, the genre was usually concentrated on the Hero and the Villain. The villain's sidekicks and foot soldiers who usually did the dirty work were taken for granted. Satya changed all that, giving them the human side to their existence and life, inspite of all the evil they unleashed (at the Boss' beck and call). From the chaos and uncertainty of the Mumbai city, to the 99% of populace that run it, Satya captured it in its entirety. No wonder everybody connected with it then, and now, 25 years later... As the cast and crew admitted it, the broad brush strokes of the characters and the work-in-progress storyline was probably the reason the raw, gritty, almost unfinished film still endears to all cinephiles.
RGV was not just a director he more intellectual than all other people, you should watch Ramuism Telugu, the way Ramu understands world is not like a human. Great person
Utter genius of a film and kudos to all who were involved in making this film, especially RGV. Satya was a landmark film. It literally changed the way people look at films. These behind-the-scenes stories are just amazing to listen to. Just mindblowing how the lines between reality and film just converge and blur.
Wowwwwwww.. excellent 👌👌👌👌Sathya sow the seed to all todays content oriented films nd webseries like Mirzapur, gangs of wasseypur nd Sathya highlighted the importance of character artists nd treated like stars.. Sathya totally changed Bollywood film making nd it's broken all the routine cinematic norms
Path breaking film. One of the best scenes is the Manoj-Shefali scene when he comes home and the Ganpati scene. Every character was brilliantly portrayed and the music and background score was top notch. Love this movie
Nobody talked about how they roped in Gerard Hooper and why?. Outstanding work by Mr Hooper I must say. The background score of this movie still haunts in my mind. It's one of the best among the very best. Also the other 25 yr documentary I am very eagerly waiting is of 'Ab Tak chappan', which is in my top 10 best movies ever.
Hi Parth and Hitarth, this a fascinating and fantastic montage of anecdotes. Even two more hours would have been a joy. Wish you could have got hold of Sandeep Chowta too. What a score he has given... the dread, the ominous dirge of the piano. KUdos to all your colleagues for putting this together.
Thank you 😊 Glad you enjoyed watching it. We tried our best to get Sandeep Chowta ji but he refused, might be busy. We are big fans of the background score too.
It was a path breaking film.. loved it totally it took me away from the usual goody goody and massy films with loud monologues. Three cheers to Ramu sir
Satya is a new trend in hindi cinema all indian cinema filmmakers and actor stood and watch the way protaryed the gangsters role next 25 later all audience watch Satya for 50 years .All credit goes to RGV and Team🎉
Another powerful scene is when Satya and Vithya go to the cinema, the police round up the Cinema & Satya fires a shot that leads to a stampede to desperately escape, now that was a mind blowing scene❤
In 18.33 to 18.43, it is mentioned that Shefali Shah's character was named 'Rani' in Satya. Correction: Shefali Shah's character is 'Pyaari' and not 'Rani'. Apologies for the error.
Musicians always sidelined in terms of credits of the movie Like Sandeep Chowta in Satya, Kaun Harris Jayaraj in RHTDM Ram Sampath in Khakee Same Goes with Salim Sulaiman They always uncredited.
Full credit to Anurag Kashyap - writing scripts to making cult trilogy movies to acting as a villain in a Tamil classic. He is where there is good cinema.
Great tribute!! Actually you all should have spoken about late actor Rajesh Joshi who played the character Bapu. He passed away much before the film got released.
THE FUNNY PART IS NON OF THEM HAVE THE IDEA OF UNDERWORLD AND MAHARASHTRAIN CULTURE THEY JUST MADE THE MOVIE THE WAY THEY WANTED…NORTH SOUTH CULTURE MIX BHIKU MAHTRE SOUNDED MORE LIKE A BIHARI THAN MAHARASHTRAIN 😂 ITS MORE LIKE A ANDHRA AND UTTAR PRADESH COLLABORATION IN AMCHI MUMBAI
@@hitarthdesai2759 THE TRUTH IS RAMU HAD GOT A BAKRA TO PRODUCE AND FINANCE HIM AND THE REST OF THE CREW WAS JOBLESS AT THAT TIME THEY DIDNT HAVE A PROPER SCRIPT AND RAMU IS IMPATIENT RANDOMLY KISIKO BHI BOL DEGA TO EDIT KAR TU MUSIC KAR TU ACTING KAR LUCKLY IT WAS A HIT WHN YOUR STARS ⭐️ ARE FAVOURING YOU A FALTU SONG 🎵 LIKE KALLU MAMMA BECOMES A HIT AND HENCE ALL THE JOBLESS PEOPLE LIKE MANOJ BAJPAI STARTED TO GET WORK AFTER THIS
@social.salaam.namaste NO YOU ARE WRONG……RAMU AND HIS CO-WRITERS WROTE THE WAY THEY WANTED WHAT THEY SAW IN THR HOMETOWN SOME THINGS WR TAKEN FROM RAMUS ANDHRA PRADESH AND THE OTHER BHAIYA PARTY WRITER LIKE ANURAG AND SOURAB SHUKLA FROM THR STATE UTTAR PRADESH BHIKU MHATRE SOUNDED MORE LIKE A BIHARI IN THIS MOVIE THE YEAR WAS 1998 SO NO ONE PAID ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS I MEAN BY THE AUDIENCES AS WELL
rgv is a very good music listener I think because of his dad being a sound technician and in accordance he might have adopted even how the music should sound for the films and I usually love Sandeep chouta music but in rgv films ,only rgv's kind of music is special even after if it is composed by a great music director and I love that haunting music
Shefali Shah, her character's name is Pyaari, not Rani. Love how confidently Sucharita Tyagi claims it to make her invalid point, this is so stupid. Also this makes it to the final cut without proof checking and QC?
Surprised , most impactful scene of movie Satya is “threatening music director at night ‘“ but no discussion of that scene in this video , in cinema hall this scene is shook me
