I'm thinking the same way as Nick, my 13s are still going strong after my 12s quickly fell apart. I'll be looking for these when the 15s come out. The Peregrines are great for most trail runs, offering enough comfort on stretches of road and grips well on most surfaces, except maybe smooth wet rock and extremely sloppy mud. The best all-rounder i can think of
the best trail runners by far, ive used hokas, asics and inov8 in the past but these peregrine were by far the most durable and had the best stability and traction.
I have the Peregrine 13. Really like them. It took a bit of time to adjust to the different feel after having two pairs of Speedgoats and I have avoided doing road to trail in them so far, but they fit superbly and give me all the confidence I need to take on the trails here in Brittany. I would certainly recommend them to those who like to venture off road for their running fun.
Heyyyaaaa! One thing came into my mind seeing this… Could you do a review for winter spikes, the likes of Salomon Winter Cross spike or similar? I get that it’s rare that you’d need spikes in the UK 😅 But us nordic folk would appreciate it, and i guess alot of Northern Americans would like to see that review too
I have run in Speedgoats and Challengers. I would suggest that the Peregrines are more of a dedicated trail shoe in comparison. Not quite as comfortable, but more agile and connected. All the clichés, but I am not sure how else to describe the feel. I can imagine more experienced trail runners gravitating more to the Peregrines. Having said all that, if you can find a good deal, I would choose between the Speedgoat or Peregrines.
Is there any width difference between the 2 versions. On the shoe fitting website the 13 shows that it would be tight whereas the 14 is just snug. Also how does the width compare to something like the Topo mtn racer 3?
How do these hold up on long trail runs. Mostly compacted dirt/rooted trails here. I’m asking about 13-18 miles ish Will have a 40 mile trail run in January so if there is something else you’d recommend for short and long distance like a 40. Shoot it my way!
