This is the longest video I've ever posted and naturally, RU-vid decided to demonetize it immediately upon release. This has been resolved now, but it nonetheless severely affects performance because YT doesn't promote videos as heavily when they are demonetized, and the first few hours of a release are critical for gaining momentum, which is handicapped when the video is demonetized for those first few hours and being underpromoted. These massive videos are extremely expensive and time-consuming to produce, so if you want to watch even more and support the channel directly, please consider checking out the next part of this video covering how the international coalition eliminated ISIS in Iraq and Syria between 2014 and 2019, which you can view on Nebula here: nebula.tv/videos/reallifelore-modern-conflicts-the-fall-of-isis It's all a part of my Modern Conflict series over there, and there are dozens of other episodes you can watch as well. Oh absolutely. And look what happened last time they tried to do reforms, the second there was any pushback from the religious extremists they undid everything and doubled down on the religious conservatism. I'd bet that these "sweeping reforms" will end up the same way. And frankly they're a drop in the bucket of what's needed. Women can drive now, wow! But reporters can still be disappeared, homosexuality is still punished with the death penalty. It's just not enough. Like you say, they've left this too late. Maybe if they kept going after that mosque siege instead of caving in to the religious fanatics they'd have been able to continue making gradual changes and be in a decent place by now, but they didn't. So they can either do things gradually enough to avoid provoking strong pushback, in which case it won't happen fast enough and they're screwed, or they can force reforms through quickly and face tons of pushback and turmoil, in which case they're screwed.

Great video, although it misses a couple of very important key facts: 1) As alluded to, the US is well capable of producing an excess of oil over and above what they need domestically, they just choose not to for various reasons. 2) When making the deal with the Saudis for their supply of oil, the US added another stipulation to the agreement; that the Saudis use the US dollar for pricing and transacting for oil. This gave the US dollar IMMENSE strength and power globally and was one of the main cornerstones of the USD's global dominance and subsequently US global power. 3) Recent Saudi deals with China to trade oil in Chinese Yuan and agreements with Russia regarding oil supply and pricing have significantly strained the relationship with the US. 4) Despite their best efforts and intentions, the world will not be able to remove their reliance on oil any time soon. Alternative energy generation is still a long way from being good enough to replace oil. While nuclear power generation could likely do the job, this is not a favoured option for many countries.

As an Iraqi who was born in Baghdad in 2001 and raised there for 5 years, I am severely disappointed in Iraq for wanting to invade Kuwait and Saudi for oil, rather than developing their own country to become a powerhouse like the United States of America, China, and Russia. As the video stated the Tigris and Euphrates river provided fertile lands for Iraq to set up an agricultural sector that would've fed the people of Iraq, and plenty of oil to get the money to put into developing schools and increasing the quality of life for the people of Iraq. Instead of Iraq being a war-torn country, it could've been a global political influencer. Really sad to see this as an Iraqi.

It's alarming how this video doesn't differentiate how this is more due to politics then simply "islam" or "extreme Islam" whatever that means. Islam is lawfully (by Qur'an) should only be ONE. No sects. Strictly no division. So this is and was not a religious conflict. Similar to Christian v Christian wars. That wasn't from their scripture either it's just politics trying to justify itself with by misusing religion. One brief example is America's involvement in Iraq. He didn't express how that was unlawful. 1 million + Iraqis & US soldiers died bc President Bush lied expressing Iraq used WMDs. In other words America weren't the heroes there, rather the ones who escalated it, keep the conflict between them, let them settle it we obviously don't understand. Oh yea don't forget the part where we took a "tiny bit" of Iraqs resources with us. It was definitely not a war for profit 🤫 Regardless of this channels propaganda, I always love the visuals and the variety of topics

@@BF109G4no. The Saudis invaded Yemen in order to subjugate and enslave the people and take their oil and land . We supported them To jockey for a better position to attack Iran, which we've always been salivating to do. The first move we helped the Saudis do was to destroy the water filtration so hundreds of thousands of kids got cholera and died. We also bombed schools hospitals and surrounded them at sea so they couldn't get food or clean water . It's called 'seige warfare' or 'sanctions' but it's war and death and misery. The Yemeni people never understood why we ( USA) were doing this ( we guided the bombs and told the Saudis where to attack, being lords of war) then we finally added soldiers on the ground as well as sea support. We decimated them . Any help they got from Iran was totally justified as there was never a 'civil war' a lie spun by the Saudis to get all manner of support int heir efforts to subjugate and occupy Yemen They even bombed fishermen ti starve more people . Several counter points: 1- KSA has at least 700b$ in their national wealth fund invested everywhere in the world. 2- KSA still has the support of the Arab and Muslim world because of its religious importance 3- The world may need less oil as fuel in the future, however, KSA is focusing more and more on using its oil in petrochemical industries 4- The ages of coal and wood are over. However, we are still consuming massive amounts of coal and wood as sources of energy. If you can produce oil cheap enough (KSA can), you will always find customers. 5- KSA still has many other sources of income that they are hardly exploiting now, from religious tourism to massive mines of natural resources to seaports exploiting its great geolocation. *The challenges for KSA are great, but it is far from being doomed.

Thanks for having the courage to release this. I took a Medieval history class in college and much of it covered the origins of this region. Its history is one of nearly endless religious warfare. The question has been asked, since the 70's oil embargo "why does the US fund its enemies and war in the Middle East?". We're all complicit as long as we need oil or natural gas. The same question was asked after 9/11, during the Iraq War, the ISIL invasion, and so forth. The money of oil and gas purchases is the fuel for these wars, not oil and gas themselves. We buy what they have, they buy our weapons, we protect their right to exist, and then they treat us and each other terribly. This dependence on international resources can lead to peace, but only when dealing with ideologically worthwhile countries. Saudi Arabia, Wahhabists and Iranian-backed terrorists have state sponsorship because it hasn't been possible to hold them accountable. They have carte blanche to do what they want and the rest is history.

I'm still very skeptical about whether the world will really stop needing Saudi oil. The vision to decarbonize economies is wishful thinking, we aren't doing nearly enough to increase the production of copper, lithium, cobalt and other minerals needed for renewables, which aren't a reliable source of energy anyways, and there hasn't been a sufficient increase in nuclear energy either. Especially with Russia being a pariah state to much of the world now, Saudi Arabian oil will be needed by someone. Maybe not America, but probably Europe, and definitely China, Japan and India.

Saudi has access to the Pakistani nuclear capability since they funded it - They may call on that card when Iran gets the bomb.

No. This one is a propaganda. It’s not an actual educational video. There’re suddenly many videos against Saudi Arabia recently being posted by Americans on RU-vid. And they all posted their videos at the same timing. Don’t be fooled by politicians and always go for valid sources like an actual person who visited Saudi Arabia instead.

The video is very inaccurate bcz Saudi’s Oil is way more important to western nations than represented. Thus it is virtually impossible for the west to stop relying on it even 27 years from now. 1 Oil is the best energy source for military machinery, and factories both of which world governments want to be as efficient as possible in order to be strong militarily and economically. Switching to a less-efficient energy source is unthinkable for the west because other nations would use oil and eventually gain more military and economic success relatively. IE the incentive for oil use will never die 2 Oil’s importance during wars. The US is CONSTANTLY fighting in wars and spending trillions of $ to fund their military. We humans always find ways to conflict with one another throughout history and that will never stop. Thus wars, like russia-ukraine etc will be present in the future. This means that the reliance on oil will not die in the future. Further, the video does not mention the importance of petroleum for commodity production especially petroleum products. Look up “petroleum products” and you’ll see the vast dependance of western economies on oil (6,000 everyday products need crude oil for its production including kerosene, jet feul, asphalt, plastic, rubber, and MANY more) in addition to its military use of it. The implications of this is that oil is irreplaceable unless a new material that can do all what I mentioned above with the same cost and efficiency (which no other material has been discovered so far). The video fails to mention this making it extremely inaccurate

Saudi Arabia should have send all their students to Europe and America and study science to develop own industry. But they don’t want to work for cheap labor.

Mark Curtis' 2010 book "Secret Affairs: Britains' Collusion with Radical Islam" tells of the British support for Ibn Saud skipped over by this video. Ibn Saud’s takeover of Saudi Arabia involved killing 400,000, 1,000,000 fled into exile. In the numerous rebellions that followed Ibn Saud executed 40,000 in public executions and amputated the limbs of 350,000. The Wahhabi sect believes in killing all dissenters and enslaving their wives and children. Women were killed just for appearing outdoors and men killed for smoking cigarettes. Colonial Secretary Churchill admired this friend of Britain and raised his funding. The British Army in Iraq also intervened to help Saud crush a rebellion. It also tells how the reactionary Brits and USA helped create the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Ayataollah Khomenei in Iran and how Pakistan was originally the brainchild of British Military Intelligence (see his online excerpt 'Partition: Keep A Bit of India".

I live in riyadh and this is sort of common knowledge history. Foundation day (يوم التأسيس) which is in february celebrates this and marks the beginning from the first state in the 18th century. The video in general is informative yes though I doubt any sweeping sudden doom predictions, things will gradually change and possibly stabilise.

There's a reason they say there will never be peace in the Middle East. Not only is it home to 3 of the world's major religions, but each of these religions is split and divided.
@clearviewmoai
@clearviewmoai 24 дня назад
Different religions have very little to do with the Middle East's problems. Christianity, Druze, Zoroastrianism, etc. are miniscule religious minorities, and there's one Jewish state. The vast majority of the Middle East adheres to Islam, and Islam is a violent and intolerant religion at its core, they can't even tolerate each other's denominational differences.

I learned more in this 50+ minute showing than I did when working for 5 years in the 80's. I drove across Saudi a few times, explored mountains and vast open spaces. I actually enjoyed most of my time there! I certainly saw the country. I saw obscene wealth and I saw poverty. Yes, there are poor Saudi's for sure!

Worldly matters everyone is smart enough, but Spiritual matters not so, God’s given short time to learn, to explore & discover God unseen, Only Mind can grasp, God Giver of all blessings. Mostly People failed to acknowledge, Now Science unfolded many facts, How God managed world & Universe. Open Phenomenon!!! Prophets declared the same introducing God Almighty. A crucial test for mankind.
