In this video series, I'll be sharing my personal experiences and insights into how Ramadan influences the daily life and work routine of a software engineer in this region. Ramadan, a month of fasting, reflection, and spiritual growth, brings about a distinctive rhythm to the lives of Muslims around the world. For a software engineer like myself based in Saudi Arabia, Ramadan brings a blend of traditional practices and modern professional responsibilities.
During Ramadan, my daily routine undergoes some notable changes. After performing Tahajjud (night prayer) and Hajjar (pre-dawn meal), I head to the office. The serene atmosphere during these early hours offers a peaceful start to the day, allowing for personal reflection and preparation for the tasks ahead.
Once at the office, the workday begins, but with a modified schedule. Unlike regular days, during Ramadan, the work hours are reduced to six hours, ensuring a balanced approach to both professional commitments and spiritual obligations. This adjusted schedule allows for greater flexibility in managing workload while also accommodating time for prayers and rest.
After completing my work tasks, I have the opportunity to return home for additional rest or engage in community activities related to Ramadan. Whether it's attending special prayers at the mosque, participating in charitable endeavors, or spending quality time with family, Ramadan offers a multitude of enriching experiences beyond the workplace.
Through this series, I aim to provide viewers with a glimpse into the multifaceted aspects of life as a software engineer in Saudi Arabia, particularly during the sacred month of Ramadan.
