Bravo!🌼🌿🌼🌿🌼🌿🌹
The imagery in this is compelling, especially the woman's headdress ensemble. It makes her seem like a goddess appearing, or at least a priestess conducting a ritual. This music has an anazing energy within it. Am going to copy the lyrics and pop them into translation software, awaiting an interesting surprise! ❤
Saule brida miglājosi, līgo līgo ( The Sun waded into the fog, līgo līgo) Jāņu dienas vakarāi, līgo līgo (On Jāņi (Solstice) Eve, līgo līgo) Kur Dieviņi lielu guni , ligo līgo ( Light, God, wide fire, līgo līgo) Sildi visu pasaulīti, Līgo līgo (Warm up the entire world, līgo līgo) Sakurosi uguntiņu, līgo līgo ( I lit up the fire, līgo līgo) No deviņi žagariņi, līgo līgo (out if nine twigs, līgo līgo) Sildas Dievis, mīlā Laima, līgo līgo (warms up God, sweet Laima, līgo līgo) Mana mūža licējiņa, līgo līgo (the founder of my life(Destiny), līgo līgo) Līgojami līgojami, līgo līgo (Līgot meaning is to sway as well as to sing Jaņu Eve songs, therefore Sway singing songs, Līgo līgo) Neguļami negiuļami, līgo līgo ( Let's not sleep, let's not sleep, līgo līgo ) redzēsimi redzēsimi, līgo līgo (We'll see, we'll see, līgo līgo) Kā Saulīte rotājāsi, līgo līgo (How the Sun adorned herself, līgo līgo) The Sun in Latvian is a Feminine Deity, Te Moon - masculine Hope this helps..
I'm sorry to ask here, but i not sure if google translate was right. I hear in alot of songs the word : 'līgo, līgo!' And i was wondering what i means, could somebody help me please?:) Thanks in advance!
Līgo (June 23rd) is the main traditional ethnic festival in Latvia. It celebrates summer solstice and is followed by Jāņi (St. John Day) on June 24th. Both are public holidays.
@@agaka2455 Thank you so much! Google translate said it ment: Waves waves' and i figured that coulnd't be true. So thank you again for clearing this up:)
English Translation: The sun waded through the mists On Midsummer's eve, Where, John, a great fire, Warm the whole world! Where, John, a great fire On the peak of a high mountain, So that the paths may be lit. This translation attempts to keep the poetic and evocative nature of the original song.
RU-vid just put this in my recommendations, and it’s a beautiful sounding song and a visually stunning video.😊😊😊 Only thing is I don’t know the language so I don’t know what the lyrics mean so I put the lyrics in Google translate to see what it’s saying, and below is what came back. I’m gonna guess something is lost in translation especially in verses 2 and 4. 😅😅😅 If anyone who knows the language has a better translation, post it below.😊😊😊 ----------- The sun is shining, sweeping, swinging! On Midsummer's Day, let's go! The sun is shining, sweeping, swinging! Midsummer's Eve, let's go! Where, Gods, great guns, sway, sway! Warm the whole world! Where, Gods, great guns, sway, sway! Warm the whole world! Shut the fire, smooth, smooth! Out of nine, let's go! Shut the fire, smooth, smooth! Of the nine jagged, liigo! God is warming, dear Lima, croaking, crouching! Bitch of my life, lot! God is warming, dear Lima, croaking, crouching! Bitch of my life, lot! Swing, swing, swing, swing! Insidious, nailed, crooked! Swing, swing, swing, swing! Insidious, insatiable, swaying! Let's see, let's see the lot, the lot! As the sun adorns you, swing! Let's see, let's see the lot, the lot! As the sun adorns you, swing!
The sun waded the haze, līgo, līgo! In John's Day's afternoon, līgo! The sun waded the haze, līgo līgo! In John's Day's afternoon, līgo! Where gods, big fires, līgo, līgo! Warm the whole world, līgo! Where gods, big fires, līgo, līgo! Warm the whole world, līgo! Light a fire, līgo, līgo! From nine brambles, līgo! Light a fire, līgo, līgo! From nine brambles, līgo! God is warming, lovely Laima, līgo, līgo! My mūža licējiņa, līgo! God is warming, lovely Laima, līgo, līgo! My mūža licējiņa, līgo! Swaying, swaying, līgo, līgo! Can't sleep, can't sleep, līgo! Swaying, swaying, līgo, līgo! Can't sleep, can't sleep, līgo! We will see, we will see, līgo, līgo! How Sun decorates, līgo! We will see, we will see, līgo, līgo! How Sun decorates, līgo! To give context: Jāņi, which is Latvian Midsummer translates to John's Day. Guns comes from the fact that the song shortens the word for fires, "uguni" to "guni" and and so translate though guns. Līgo doesn't translate, its another name for John's Day but is kinda a word of celebration and can translate to swaying. Laima was one of the pagan gods (as was God, the main one) and "mūža licējiņa" was in some sources her surname. Mūža is life though idk what "licējiņa" would translate to, but its not a swear, that I know. The Sun was a god as well in the old pagan religion.
