@@dovnotarius2825if they wanted to be more lore accurate with the ring, it would be a net negative on the player - not a positive. The ring tempting you is supposed to be a bad thing.

@@hebercluff1665The ring tempting a powerful, capable user is often a net positive for the wielder, but a horrible net negative for everybody else. And as players are supposed to be Planeswalkers, they would be more than capable of wielding the Ring, and making life miserable for everyone around them. Flavorfully fits for me.

@@kyle1078 ...but people also hate eminence, so they probably erred on the side of caution. I do agree though, as far as commanders with eminence go, there are few better candidates

What's the point of playing a flavourful general like Sauron in a generic and bland Grixis control shell like this? You could literally play every other Grixis legendary creature in the game as your general in this deck and you would not notice the difference 🤦‍♂️

I made an Aragorn the Uniter deck recently. Basically filled it with cheap red cards and ways to potentially protect him. Man does it pack a punch. Sauron is my next build though. Then Bombadil.

Might I suggest that in place of into the roil you try Vesuvan Mist. You still get bounce a thing, draw a card for 4, but when you bounce your ring, the card that you draw is... Another Ring!
