Following questions about the cooking with the Ninja and the use of spray oils, I decided to do a very quick clip which clearly demonstrated that I don't use any oils with certain foods. You can find more recipes on my website www.susiehunter.co.uk

I just got the 7.5 litre Ninja delivered yesterday and it's a beauty just did some McCain crinkle cut chips and a couple of jumbo Harry Ramsden's Fish Fingers just to test out the sync function and works perfectly. I have never been able to cook sausages properly they are either underdone or burnt but after seeing your video that is a problem I will no longer have thank you.

So pleased for you ! I have quite a few men subscribers who now find cooking a lot easier !! I always say start simple and build your confidence and simply cook the things you like! I love lamb chops done in the ninja and chicken oh and roasties are wonderful ! You can even buy frozen roasties if it suits you more ! Everyone has a different lifestyle and there is nothing wrong with frozen , I love my freezer , keeps all my goodies in it . Enjoy xxxx

I cook all my breakfast sausages in a Ninja Max rather than grill them now. I lightly spray the casing with veg oil because it speeds up and evens the browning. I use a silicon tray which catches all the fat and easily removes for cleaning when cooler. After preheating 12 minutes at 200 deg with a shake halfway is enough to cook the inside to temperature and thoroughly brown the outside. Life is that little bit simpler in the morning now and frozen hash browns offer a variation on the menu.

I have always took the draws out and laid it on its back , got my throw away jay cloth in hot soapy water and washed round after every cook , you cannot get to the fans on mine! I make sure my cloth is not dripping wet and just rub round what I can dry with kitchen roll then stand it up and return draws and turn it on for a couple of minutes to make sure it has dried out .Ninja don’t give any real guide lines that I can find ! @cookingwithsusie

I usually look at the packet and take there guidance for temperature, regards times that does vary if you have thick sausages they are going to take longer than skinny ones , I would say some thick sausages take 15 mins from frozen and skinny can take 10 mins but I always rely on my meat thermometer to make sure they are cooked inside I always look for above 70c on my sausages not too much above as they become dry quickly , I think that is about 162 f , poultry sausage is a bit higher 165 f xxx

@cookingwithsusie
@cookingwithsusie Год назад
I totally get what you mean! I myself never like to use the tongs on raw food as I tend to put the tongs down and have found myself nearly picking up cooked food with tongs that had handled raw food . I never forget hand washing it is automatic to me, unlike when I lay tools down I can easily forget what I have done with them, that is unless I throw them straight into the dishwasher , it is a case of what works for you . The sausages are delicious. Xx

97% pork doesn't mean 97% meat. It just means 97% pig. 50% of that 97% might be fat and the other 50% meat. The other 3% is likely rice or rusk.
@cookingwithsusie
@cookingwithsusie Год назад
I have checked this out with waitrose and there 97 % pork sausage is 97% per cent pork meat , another person made me aware of this so I went round and had a chat with there meat manager who was very nice and took me through there range , they do have other sausages that are a higher fat content and it all clearly makes and described on the back of the pack . Also there butcher told me he felt the better sausage was the one with the slightly higher fat content , he said it cooked better and had the better flavour . I still use the premium one as I love it . It is very good to be aware though we should read the labels and question things . Thanks for commenting xx

I totally agree they must have fat and the ones I use are 10% , they are more solid than most but taste amazing . When I used to live on the farm I had more time and used to make my own for special occasions, I loved them I just used pork shoulder that I ground up and added my own herbs , it was the caseings I used to struggle to get . Sadly I am now to busy to even try . I have a close friend who buys hers from her local butcher her are 17% fat but a very course grind which I am not keen on . Thanks for commenting xx

If someone wants to save money on their energy and buy something that can cook everything "properly" get a combo microwave. The Air fryer is ABSOLUTELY useless when it comes to batter and crispening things up, sure it can cook with hot air but hot air is about all its good for. I know many who bought the ninja and compared to my combo micro I woudn't consider it a close fight, there OK but seriously for the money, it would take over 2 years to get your money back on any savings you would make

Mine paid for itself in the first nine months !! Okay that is because I have a huge old oven that ate electric! I absolutely love my Ninja , it gives me the crispest roast potatoes I have ever had and it cooks all my dishes beautifully. There are things I still do in a pan such as my steaks . I have a large Panasonic combi microwave flat bed design that I have never really got the hang of and it cost us nearly £400 , I use it as a microwave and I believe it has its place in my kitchen along with my other machines , it is all down to choice and nothing wrong with microwaves if that’s what you are used too . No, you should never prick sausages these day. They were called 'bangers' for a reason. During the war they had so much water in them that they would explode and the pricks let out the steam to stop that occurring. I keep oils for ages. As long as they are kept out of sunlight they'll be fine long after use by dates. Oil used for cooking gets very hot so any bacteria will be killed anyway. Not so if used for salads though.
@cookingwithsusie

I actually remember sausages exploding you are right 😂😂 I actually don’t buy huge bottles of oil so I run out long before dates ever get near but when stay n a farm once in Greece the old man told me they never dated there oil 😂 he did say they had what they called a cold cellar which he kept everything in .
