I liked your video. Good luck hunting. I bought the Axis II in .223 for prairie dogs and other varmints. I too replaced the scope, not for the same reason, just wanted more power.
I got one for Christmas $250 savage axis 308 with Red Field Revaluation scoop perfect for my first 308 win. I really like my first savage axis work great for the price point.
Great video very detailed and well explained. I won this rifle in the FDE web color at SEWE last weekend and now I know what I am getting. Thinking of upgrading the trigger and getting a vortex diamondback 10x50 when I get it.
Very nice … I noticed you may have been resting the barrel on your bag … try moving your bag back towards the action and it will help your accuracy… something I’m still working on 😊
I have the exact same rifle. I wasn’t happy with the groups I was getting so I put an MCarbo trigger kit on it, a Desh bolt lift kit, and a Glades bolt handle replacement. I’m also about to drop it into a Boyd’s stock. We shall see how much the accuracy improves with different ammos. I enjoy tinkering with all my firearms so I was willing to go through those upgrades and spend the money since I already had the rifle. Probably wasn’t worth it financially 😂 My wife just wants something out of the box that shoots well so I got her an x bolt and Leupold.
best thinhg you can do for that rifle is upgarde scope and rings, throw that trigger in the garbage and get a timney or rifle basix, look of stock renforcement for axis stock, or replace with a boyds.
