Really like the merman redesign for this show , I dunno if we’ll see more Netflix show characters in the Masterverse line but Merman is one I would love to see get that treatment
The style of Mer Man is fantastic, really scary, evil face, big muscle body. Best figure in this line 🙏 Hordaks Style looks for me a little bit too skinny, but I think they want to look him more like a vampire 🤘He man has a fine looking new arm sculpting 👍
The art book of the show envisions Moss Man showing up in a new season, which might not happen since a screenwriter said on Twitter that show is "currently not renewed".
Yeah, wasn't there a toy Moss Man figure for this series previewed at SDCC 2022? With a bird or something? I'm hoping the show gets picked up again in the near future. I don't want to endure another 200x fiasco where the series ends just as it's firing on all cylinders. 😞
That Hordak figure reminds me of one of the old Hasbro Xevoz figures that was a vampire type with wings and clawed feet. Even had a similar upper torso look.
I wish we would get this hordak in masterverse. I am one of the people who liked the DreamWorks She-ra, and would love to see those figures done in the Masterverse, since I doubt that is likely this hordak would be a nice way to settle
I love this series and the action figures......I won't be surprised if years from now when these are no longer available, collectors will regret not buying them at retail when they had the chance and prices will sky rocket on the 2nd hand market
@@victorconter9038 yeah, exactly, that means the newer ones will be scarce. In all lines, be it this or Transformers or Hotwheels, it's always the ones nobody cares about that end up being worth most later on since the supply is so low that any increase interest will lead to skyrocketed prices. The 2015 RID Transformers line is a great example, those have increased in value by a much higher percentage than Transformers Masterpiece figures of that same era.
First of all, R.I.P Kevin Conroy. His performance as CGI's Hordak was pretty cool in the few lines he had in the end. Now as far as Hordak being skinnier, since the show has a tendency for evolutions and special suits i wouldn't be surprised if they would have made Hordak grow stronger to fight He-Man with his cyber-weapons that resemble the Filmation counterpart. As far as Mer-Man, the CGI design is my second favorite only surpassed by the Lords of Power/200x version. He looks so cool with all the detailed scales and fins. I really hope this show continues. The most recent artbook showed teasers such as concept art for The Horde (Grizzlor, Mantenna, Modulok, etc) and some new Masters (Stonedar and Sky-Klone). I just want more! Additional Note: "Complete Junk"? That is why MOTU is in the shape it is compared to other 80's franchises. Transformers fans welcomed Animated. TMNT fans welcomed 2012. Ghostbusters fans welcomed Afterlife. MOTU fans???? Naaaaah! Everything that isn't 1:1 Filmation is treated as if it was the worst thing ever. Did Revelations though you nothing? Looking Vintage is not enough to be good.
@@ObsessiveGeek: The reason i did was because at the moment of the edit, it was the comment with the most likes therefore the most popular take. Basically, the top comment on the video was "Hey! This sucks because it isn't like the 80's!" (200x vs vintage fans all over again). It sure doesn't help Mattel itself ignores the show too. On their Kevin Conroy tributes, they only mentioned that he voiced Mer-Man in Revelations making it seem as if the CGI show and his role of Hordak didn't exist.
Yes it does feel like the end of the line, sadly. I enjoyed the show and i liked the toys, sadly they failednto capture a new audience, maybe Netflix is not the right platform to attract kids.
I haven’t been really paying attention to this cartoon or line, but these three are ones I’m going to be looking for. Merman looks great. Armored HeMan looks better than previous versions. Hordak…I didn’t think much of in package, but once you had him out, I’ll be looking for him, too. Got me excited for a moment with those bat wings, as I’ve been looking for a proper set in this scale for about 2099 years, now. 🙄😉
Hot Take, but I think these Merman and Hordak designs are my favorite from any of the series. To be fair, I've never been a fan of either character though, but these are appealing to me. And my kids love them.
I pre-ordered Mer-Man and Hordak through EE because I was sure I'd never see these in stores, so far I've been correct. I got Mer-Man a few days ago and still waiting on Hordak to get shipped, but man ole man I have a dilemma, because I want to open them, but I also think they look great on card. I kinda want to leave them on card because of the lack of articulation, I feel like, what's the point, can't really pose them much anyway. But they're such cheap figures, seems silly to leave them in the packaging. Ughhhh... sometimes I hate being a toy collector lol
Wow, they even removed the action feature on these figures?! And this line, especially, is supposed to be designed for kids to play with! Just…wow! I agree, I feel like this and the Minis just never really caught on like Mattel had hoped they would. As cool as some of these redesigns are, they just don’t “feel” like MotU to me…just as many of them are very generic and uninspired, imo…
This line is junk and I knew it immediately despite everyone’s optimism. I mean, just look at em 🤷♂️ I’ve also seen too many race and gender swaps with this line. I’m sick of seeing that everywhere and there’s no room in my collection or my wallet for that needless nonsense
How can you assume that Hordak is still a man? Maybe he's gender fluid now or has transitioned to a woman. In today's strange world, anything is possible. 😂
Complete junk, it really shows how wonderfully imaginative Mark Taylor was, compared to the modern create-a-character Fortnite generic video game-rejected designs.
