In today’s video, I discuss our family’s minimalist money habits. There is a shift that happens when a person begins to live more minimally. The lens that is used to look at life changes perceptions on not only physical items and clutter, but a whole variety of life aspects - including money and finances.
We actually started clearing up our finances before we began fully embracing minimalism. And, although the goal of debt freedom was the start to our financial success, I truly believe that it is our family’s minimalist mindset that has helped us to prosper with money.
I am by no means a financial guru, but the tips outlined in this video have allowed us to make positive traction toward a solid financial future.
Perhaps the greatest minimalist money habit on this list is the idea that we can “make do, or do without”. This simple mantra that you probably heard your grandparents say time and time again rings SO true.
When we began living more minimally, it became glaringly clear that things were just things. And things are made for us to use. Our family uses our things until they are no longer useful. Truly. You will have to watch the video to hear a story about one the oldest items we own. It’s still useful to us, so it’s still around.
I hope that the minimalist money habits presented in this video will be beneficial to you in your own financial journey. If anything resonates with you, please be sure to pop a comment down below so that we can discuss! As always, I would love it if you would consider subscribing. This channel will continue to include content surrounding minimalism, and simple living tips.
Thanks for stopping by the cottage, and I hope to see you again really soon!

Hi I’m new to this change of lifestyle, I enjoy clicking on your videos, I’m enjoying your channel. I’m almost decluttered in theory but the hardest part is to keep it up with intentional to thought. Trying to tackle my finances next , baby steps for me at the moment. I love your home thank you for sharing your journey x Maz from the U.K. x

It definitely takes some time to make a mindset shift. Seeking advice and counsel from others who have been there before you is a great step in the right direction! Best of luck on your journey!

I love the part about keeping track of what we have. Decluttering has kept me from buying (more) duplicates

Yes, avoid the contact with things. I unsubscribed from several store mailing lists as if I don’t know there’s a sale on or new items, I’m probably not going to go on the site :)

Love your videos. Just confused? You say you’re not a “financial expert“ and yet you have the whole reason for THE CURRENT INFLATION that we are experiencing. The shut down is not the whole reason.

I don’t remember saying that the shut down was the whole reason for inflation…it certainly is a mix of a lot of things. ❤️
