How absolutely stunning!! So much thought to detail and design. I love the backstory of the home and that you kept the same sampler type design is so unique!! Of course I could see the vision for the kitchen area. I’m looking forward to seeing the cabinetry stained, finished and in place. The backsplash will be gorgeous in the lap design. Since you opted against a basement, will you add a storm shelter? The recent tornado in our neighborhood left nothing except the storm shelter standing in one neighbor’s home. Their storm shelter was built In their basement. Had they been in the basement itself, they would never have survived. 😢 Western Kentucky, isn’t that far from you. I am so excited for you guys! I lived in a 1926 Dutch Colonial in NY that was way too big for us. My son got a job in NC and we have moved into a 1911 Vic. It was completely redone inside - but very contemporary. I am an Interior Architect/designer just starting to turn it into something with my own touches. You and Richard and his parents are going to live a wonderful life there.

I'm glad that house 'found' its "right person" and his name is Richard! Collectively, we (conerned people of the area) thought the city would lose the house as had been done further up the street to one 'lost' after the "Great Mortgage Crisis" from 2008-2011? For a while, its fate looked to be demolition. I'm glad that Richard is renewing and restoring "the old girl!" 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

What a beautiful tour of your home Michael and Richard! From the first time you took us on tour Michael & Richard up until I watched this new video, I couldn't believe the work and restoration that Richard has completed thus far, Wow! It's a painstakingly, and very hard work to do, yet at the same time to watch your own accomplishments of craftsmanship that you complete is extraordinary self satisfyingly gorgeous! I also agree with Richards mother and you Michael on the wallpaper going up the stairs, but you could at least put it on the right side of the entryway. Myself, I probably would do both sides in a "Victorian Rose Bouquet" in a lighter color pattern from that time period to bring out your wood tones for that "Grand Entrance" in such a marvelous 1886 home! I know it is hard work doing the "Grand Staircase" with wallpaper Richard, but what a statement piece it would make, and of course its just an opinion, and as we know everyone has one, lmao! Can't wait to see more video Michael, and you do it justice with your steady hand! What a team you two make together~

Hi Michael- I love what Richard is doing with the house. I owned a Victorian Row House in Pittsburgh that was built in 1890. So much potential to those old Victorians especially if one has an eye for what it needs. Thank you for showing us!

Too many people in my area are so quick to knock these gems down. I bought myself an old farmhouse and renovating it, too.

Absolutely wonderful repairing and rebuilding of the old home. Richard is very skilled in salvaging and restoring the place into the same time period. Great updating and I love the layout of both areas. Can't wait to see the finished home. Your backyard is a wonderful area and will be so serene and calming.
