You should be using the thermo trap putty on that valve, super easy to use and doesn't make a mess like the paste does. Reusable so it's not a one off cost and saves you time and from burning things up

Im a plumber with some hydronics experience, looking to familiarize myself and possibly branch into forced air. I greatly appreciate your content! I can only critique what i know, and that is soldering. The soldering you demonstrated is unsatisfactory. Yes, it holds, but for how long. Heat the tube first, then move your torch to the fitting, then to the back of the fitting. Capillary action will pull the solder to the back of the socket, ensuring complete coverage. What I witnessed was essentially a cold, capped joint. Anyway, I'm still stoked to have found this, but wanted to offer constructive criticsm.

I completed HVAC trade school in August 2024 and earned my EPA 608 Universal certification. I'm now seeking an apprentice position to kickstart my career in HVAC. I came across your fantastic training videos and absolutely love them-by far the best HVAC channel on RU-vid. Thumbs up!

Hey Dave, what an amazing job brother, I know they were very excited about it being free now, did I hear her say twins😃. I've gotta say I'm a little jealous, 😉 my system of 34 years finally took a dump last month when it was 100°+ here in NC. I ended up getting a Trane 14 seer that cost me $12,000🥵, on top of that a water leak under my house that was $1000 t get fixed. I could've saved a ton of money if I wasn't disabled. Funny thing is in April, I made my last payment on my house!😅 Sometimes ya just can't get ahead my friend. Anywho, Awesome thing y'all done for that couple, you will have many blessings come your way. God Bless you and yours my brother, take care! New Subscriber!!! ~Jay~

Looks like ICP Day and Night just needs cleaning and maintenance? Our Day and night comfort series installed in 2016 in Arizona and never had any problems, Just clean myself and check and replace capacitors. check for service port leaks and brass cap. Will replace condenser fan or oil it this winter. ICP is probably the best bang for the buck. How is the metal tubing on Alpine air compare? Copper or Aluminum? compressor type, series, brand?

You didn’t check air flow and you didn’t remove the shipping bolt from the furnace blower and I’m assuming the old unit was 410a because you never showed flushing the old copper.

Also what rookie uses a butane torch instead of oxy acetylene? The reason why people shouldn't be able to do this themselves is because they lack the knowledge of superheat and sub cooling, they have no idea if someone did a load calculation before the put in the unit. You know how I know this? Because my customers come in DAILY talking about how a homeowner screwed their system up so bad trying to do it themselves that cost themselves extra hundreds to thousands of dollars in extra work to fix their mistake.
@bluejay713
@bluejay713 День назад
Your talking about using a oxy acetylene torch for brazing he's using staybright 8 solder and they got apps and books for the superheat and subcool.

How hard is it? Any number of moderately priced manifold perform the calculation for You. Clamp the dumb thermocouple under the pipe and fill her up until it hits. The sub cooling value stamp on the data plate. You’re acting like it’s rocket science and it’s not.
