I try very hard to diversify my content. Featuring known watch brands, microbrands, Aliexpress. Some I have purchased new, others second hand.
The majority of the watches that I feature I have purchased. I buy them to enjoy, wear, have in my collection. I then also feature them on this channel.

It's all part of the fun. Getting the watch you love for the best price. Then the watch has a story you can regale your friends with at social engagements. Unless my wife is around, then I just say "What, this old thing, I found it on the beach next to an old pop top metal detecting." Thanks James!

It can sometimes put some potential buyers off. But I’ve never had an issue selling any watch.

Admire your meticulous dedication to gathering repair and service quotes from factory and adding the reconditioning costs to the purchase of a preowned timepiece. I wonder if all factories are accommodating to provide quotes as I’ve heard of bad experiences from others dealing with certain luxury brands 🤔

Nice purchase James. On the stated servicing after say 5 years, wouldn’t that be based upon daily wearing of the watch? If it’s an occasional wear, I would think, assume the service would not be required at that time frame. A lot of my vintage watches, as in exceed 80 years, still wind & still keep surprisingly good time!

It's more about the oils etc, regardless of if the watch is used or not. o-rings, oils and greases breakdown over time as opposed to usage.

I’m comfortable letting some watches go a very long time without servicing however am aware that some of these more complicated movements really should be looked after. Thanks for WATCHing

Good video thanks James. I find Outlets are a good place to purchase recently discontinued watches. I purchased Tissots and Hamiltons and have save at least 33% sometimes even 60% if there is a sale. Almost all those watches have the full warranty apart from one which was shop worn and ran a little slow, but the shop sent it back to Swatch group for free and its a lot more accurate now.

Hi James Thanks for great content on your channel I also have a hack I use I love Hamilton and Certina watches I live in the U.K. and there is a U.K. service centre (same place for both brands ) I buy second hand but still within the 2 year warranty and with proof of purchase I have saved at least 50% on retail price I then email them and Question the timing accuracy I’ve done this 3 times In each case they have sent me a travel case with free packing and postage It takes about 6-10 weeks but I have always had a watch returned with great accuracy a full service, clean and polished with branded travel case all for no cost With a certina I asked if they could add a link for me while it was there that cost nine pounds and 10 pence This is a little cheeky but I have had 3 watches serviced and returned like new for £9.10 Great service from the swatch group in the U.K. great channel keep up the good work Brian from U.K.

Best buying hack - select the Relax model your your choice, wait for the Ali sale and buy the Pagani, if you are going to collect watches, collect cheap watches otherwise you are going to be poor very quick, spending 1000s on luxury watches is crazy, you have to ask yourself how can they sell quality watches for 50 quid on Ali which are pretty much the same as 8000 quid so called luxury watches
