Hi, just came across your awesome channel, just wondering if u have any videos discussing what presets are, how to download and use sample packs and getting started on ableton
I don't really have anything like that on my channel. In my Ableton course over on Udemy (which is more of an Ableton beginners guide to Ableton for making DJ edits/remixes) I go into sample packs a little, finding and using them: www.udemy.com/course/making-dj-edits-mashups-remixes-in-ableton/?referralCode=914E8C207D30BBFA2585
Hey man really need your help ? How do you reverse to default preset! I accidentally saved my eq wrong and now lost the default eq ableton uses? And I prefer using the preset one instead of my saved preset version!!!!!
In the browser to go your "User Library" and within that go to "Defaults" and in there you'll find all the custom defaults you've made. Just delete the default for the plugin you want to revert and next time you drop that effect onto a track it'll be the factory default again.
Default presets in Ableton are only available for the stock effects unfortunately however some 3rd party plugins do have the ability to change the defaults within their preferences
Is there a way to mix and master vocals just using the Ableton live presets you know what I'm saying just click EQ and just use a preset on the EQ and then click compression and use a preset on the compression and then click Reverb and use a preset on the reverb it would save a lot of time I'm talking about without having to edit them period it will help a lot
If you were working with the same singer each time then you could probably create some presets which you could tweak track after track but every voice is different and even singing in different keys can bring out elements of voices that you need to effect differently. For example, with one singer you might find certain resonant frequencies on notes they sing - that might not be present in one song but then appear in the next. Again the same could be said for female and male vocals which most of the time have different registers. There are vocal chain plugins and each of them have presets for certain voice types but you'd still need to tweak them to fit to each voice, key and song.
The default presets are something that load every time you create a channel so it doesn't matter what you're working on, it'll be these settings each track in that project starts with. That's why I make my default presets quite generic but also useful.
