If you really think about it, they all represented the school in different ways: 1) Zack represented the slackers. 2) Kelly represented the less wealthy. 3) Screech represented the social misfits. 4) Jessie represented the activists. 5) Slater represented the jocks. 6) Lisa represented the black voice.
I agree except for Kelly representing the poor. I don’t think anyone thinks of the less fortunate when they see Kelly. She represents the beautiful but kind. And Zack reps the sociopaths lol
Rod reminded me of my teacher I had in high school. His name was Mr Long And he was so cool, he too had blonde long hair. But unlike rod he didn't ditch us and didn't rip the work. He taught us alot about life. And when I couldn't make it to my high school graduation cuz of family matters he came all the way to my house And gave me my high school diploma. He was so sweet. Rod is so opposite of Mr Long.
Your story about Mr. Long reminded me of something from my high school years. I grew up kinda poor, so i couldn't afford to get my senior pics taken, so one of the teachers (not even my teacher btw) offered to take them for free.
Reminds me of a teacher I had , Mr. Silver, he would let's us hang out in in classroom at lunch and after school to play cards, board games and such. He would play.with us occasionally.
He wasn't a very nice human after the show. But I guess you shouldn't speak ill of the deceased. Rip, your character on this series brought alot of joy and laughter into the show.
The actor who played Rod is Edward Blatchford. He went on to write a play that was nominated for an award in 2016. He's also a successful real estate agent in California.
Ed also was in the series Malibu CA. In a particular episode "Jason's Song", Ed effectively was in the situation of Richard Belding. Ed (Peter) warning his son (Jason) to be careful of an old friend of his, that was effectively the same as Rod Belding.

Like two people who due to schedules pass each other several times a week, and he gives a friendly acknowledgment regular to someone he passes routinely. She assumed because he said hello every time he was being pushy. But really its just they had regular meetings and would end up in the same place. So yes some women really are like that.
Belding is kindve a hippy though cuz he grew up in the 70s. Less of 1 than his bro, but there are plenty of traces of that within him, like his often goofy sense of humor. Also it's cuz he often gives off a stereotypical chill LA vibe too.
Rod Belding had a habit of getting people's hopes up and letting them down. Zack sees him as much cooler than his brother due to his laid back personality, until the class trip he overheard the conversation between him and Principal Belding in the office and discovered his true nature. Abandoning a class trip for a so-called flight attendant, Mr. Belding orders Rod to get out of his school. Zack realizes that Mr. Belding cared about his students and apologized to him for what he said.
There is an Easter egg on the DVD for this season where you can see the extended version of this episode. In the extended version, there is a scene where Rod Belding teabags Screech in Mr. Belding's office after school while Mr. Belding and Slater watch and laugh hysterically

Yup, over a girl. Zack overheard Mr. Belding and Rod talking about it and had to inform everyone. Mr. Belding, while not being an expert on white water rafting, agreed to take the class on their trip. Zack Morris Is Trash did an episode on this.

Yeah but Rod convinced the kids to don't go camping and to go white water rafting with him so he still bad in the end. If that's the case he should have just let Richard take them camping like all planned. On top of that Richard said that Rod always get people's hopes and let's them down
