#repair #mechanic #lawnmower I purchased a John Deere lawn tractor that has engine issues. Lets find out what is wrong with the mower, and get it fixed. The machine is a D110 with a Briggs and Stratton engine 19hp.
Once your in reverse with blades going you can release that yellow botton and keep cutting in reverse, you dont need to hold it the entire time your reversing , only need to hold until your reversing then release ...hope this helps
I've got news for you. You are a Pro, no longer an amateur. If you have worked on a bunch of different gas powered equipment and you have a bunch more in your yard, you are an absolute Pro. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 keep up the good work 😊👍🏿
Great videos. I had a Snapper rear engine Forest Gump type mower that I got free at the curb around 1990. It had a 10 horse Briggs and a 30 inch cut. Wore out two engines, went to a 12 horse Briggs from another free junk mower, then to a 14.5 OHV Briggs from a junk mower i bought for $20 at a garge sale. Loved this mower and replace every bushing, belt and clutch disk several times over the years. These were so well built they could last forever if you work on them. Finally in 2021, I had to let her go. I bought a cheap Cub Cadet which still runs to this day. The old Snapper went to the curb where it came from. I subscribed, and will watch what you do. Thanks!
Only 130 hrs. And a blown engine seen other channels talking about those particular Briggs engines breaking connecting rod but the owner let it get way to low in oil too
I love that you do this and I am not hating in anyway and I don’t mean any offense by this but I work as a technician for a John Deere dealership and these mowers are not great they are just as good as the craftsman and others you see in big box stores if you want to get real John Deere quality you need to get the X 300 series because these are actually John Deere not an off brand Chinese mowers and if you buy a new one at least get one with the v-twin. Thank you for reading but if you ever have any questions on fixing anything just let me know I do this professionally and plan on moving to bigger tractors like 3033r and up
Goddaughter mate, in Australia where I live a D110 goes for about 2.5 to 3k and are highly sort after. I’ve got one and I’ve only done a head gasket once and no other issues 😊
you are a very good teacher and have much knowledge to share.. your speech is clear and understandable. you have fallen into a pattern identified as an UMMER. starting almost every sentence with an UMM, OR AHH which is very distracting to your presentation. try slowing down or take a course in public speaking. you could be brilliant and a star. this sounds like criticism but is only meant to be an observation. good luck on your channel you are very talented. bill b
Thank you. I have gotten better in the last few videos on the uh and umm’s. I don’t take offense to it, and thank you for the support. I will continue to improve as I go.
@@freedommowers420 glad you did not take offence, it was not meant to be. I am/was a teacher and taught teachers to think fast and talk slow. remember you are the smartest guy in the room which why we tune in and watch your presentations. I really enjoy the things you show and you have helped me to fix several mowers that are mine or friends. keep up the good work. bill b your friend in Texas.
Cosmetics are key, in our society today, even in used lawnmowers. I like to make them look really good as well as mechanical reliability. Something to pass along. On the decks, I use a product called Corroseal Water-Based Rust Converter . It chemically diffuses the progression of rust. Best product i have found. No harsh smell, easy cleanup and you can paint over it. Just use a chip brush and then clean brush and container with water and you can reuse :) Thanks again for sharing. Wish I had the time to do a channel. @@freedommowers420
Great refurb video on that mower, hopefully that replacement Intek lasts longer than the first one did. Being that is JD brand and low hours, I would start around $1000 asking next Spring.
Great video Alex! I have seen a few low hour box store John Deere machines with engine issues. I had an E100 (plastic trans) with 80 hours with a compression release issue earlier this year. That D110 should bring you good money! Hopefully around $1k.
I have had a couple of this exact same engine this year blow the connecting rods. Interesting to see weak points on certain engines. Man I still can’t believe they thought plastic transmissions were a good idea 🤯. Yes I’ve got this one listed at $950. We shall see. Thanks for the support Casey. Hope things are good your way.
@@Huntersprojects I sold an L120 in good condition at the beginning of this year for $800. I think it had similar hours. The L130 is basically the same mower except yours has a Kohler instead of a Briggs V-twin.
I know this is too late but here goes. I have found that JD doesn't grease their machines before they sell them. Also, on the spindles ifyou break them down you will find sealed bearings under a grease fitting. Doesn't do any good to grease them because the grease can't get to the bearing. Sometimes you can take the seal off and the bearing will recover but most times not. Same with the swivel wheels on the front of some mowers. There is a fried bearing on that deck. Way to much noise. Rebuild the offending spindle on the deck. Usually if you try to remove the spindle those stupid self tapping bolts will break off and you'll have to replace the whole spindle.
L130 John deer what would it be if you changed drive belt and deck belt and don't move is there something that got unplugged that is stopping the gears from working forward or backwards
Alex ,you are finding some super nice tractors! Deeres sell super good here and i would ask $1200-$1400 for that tractor. Its sad that the engine only lasted 130 hours, but its all about how well its maintained. What was the reason you had to swap coils? I always look forward to your videos my friend! I think your doing a great job! ✌🇺🇸💲💲
Yea I was thinking 1,000-1,200 for price range. I’m trying to get rid of them quick at this point since the season is slowing down. Your the man Roger. I always love seeing your comments and support. I had taken the coil off that engine a while back for another engine that needed one. I forgot I robbed it 🤣
@@rogermcdonald1607 exactly.... Or even checking it once in a while, I had one guy just destroy an engine, he put 3qts of oil in it, it only called for 1 1/2qts.... Shaking head.
Ha. When I first started watching I was thinking oil caused it to crap out. Thanks for the video. What do people think “my car goes 3500 miles, why wouldn’t my mower?”
What kind of rocket scientist thought about mounting a hot muffler right underneath the cylinder head on an air cooled engine ? Did they want it to burn up or overheat on purpose ,so you will buy another one ? Now if i could just find a complete used LA 105 hood for my mower id be a happy camper but the flea bay sellers dont want to ship these things to Canada for some reason even though your paying up front in full with your visa card .......go figure
Love the videos man, but why do you spend so much time bending over/on the ground? Your body is going to break down in a few years. A $30 stool could go a long ways. Cheers
I need to get one. My back is trashed on a regular basis. I’m trying to renovate a bigger shop as well with more room. It’s very cramped in the space I have now.
