Saving a Classic 1987 BMW E30

In pure comical fashion, I spent more money on a very broken BMW, but not any broken BMW. An old yet COOL one! (M539 Restorations would be proud of this one) We travel to Invermere BC to pick up my new (to me) 1987 BMW E30 325e coupe with the awesome Manual transmission.
Should we N54 swap it? Maybe high revving N52 swap? 2.7i stroker build with the 325i head? Throw a turbo on the M20 engine? Time will tell!!

Well hey it was you that picked up that car. I'd been watching that sale and his other ad where he had two E39's for sale I think optionally including that one. If I'd had the funds I would have jumped on it! I have the S54 well actually a whole E46 M3 Drive train I want to put into an E30 big time! But I'm just way too broke these days! Rock on I hope it's a great build for ya!!

My built super eta put down 158whp on the dyno. This was a 2.8ish because I had to overbore the cylinder walls to 84.5 I believe. Stock ignition and fueling

what pistons did you use? I've read to use either 325i pistons for the valve reliefs? I'd like to get 2.8L like you did with a different piston and cam perhaps.

@@tony.nextlevelrides you’ll need custom pistons, or SETA pistons. (88 eta pistons). I ended up going custom flat tops.
