This old trapper cabin at Nine Mile on the St. John River was built by Camille Beaulieu. He died in 2006. In 2015 the "Lost Cabin Hunters" who are now called the "Maine Cabin Masters" renovated the cabin installing a standing seam metal roof and flooring. In this episode I returned to the cabin to finish framing and installing the cabin floor ( I ran out of materials and did not complete the finish floor) and start framing the porch. The floor is made of 2 layers of 1x12 shiplap pine with staggered seams. I used the reflector oven to bake biscuits by campfire.
This cabin is an official North Maine Woods campsite and is open to the public on a first come first served basis.#logcabin #offgrid #cabinbuilding
