Ivan, like yourself, if anyone asks your advice you tend to give it. You Tube has some bloomin’ lovely people on there like yourself ready to share their wisdom and help others 👍
With the bobbing up and down in an other video. Grab you tripod extend it fully and then hold it around halfway to 3/4 up this will help balance out the weight. To give smoother footage. It’s an easy fix. Great videos. ❤❤❤
Our shower thermostat stopped working, i am like Frank Spencer when it comes to DIY😂, watched a video on RU-vid and managed to replace it. Thank god for RU-vid.
Love it. You tube has saved me so much money. I fixed an old black & decker staple gun and my back door after watching you tube. I was about to go and buy another one when I thought, let’s try you tube. Saved a lot of money! i even learned how to do my car oil (a mystery before). i love being more resourceful. You tube is such a great resource.
Hi, I sprayed a vent in my bathroom which was yellow with home & bargains £1.99 can of spray paint and it still now it looks brand new 4 years later. I did a few thin coats. 🤗
Enjoying your videos as always. My father in law had a farm worker living in a caravan on the farm. He built himself an extension on the side, it looks like a wooden shed from the outside. But on the inside it's made room for a sort of conservatory/porch where all the coats and shoes go etc then part of it is divided off as a kind of pantry where he stores food etc etc. It really has free'd up space. I know your on a site and he's not but I thought like sharing it. Also like your setup he doesn't have the usual fixed sofa and beds etc he has standard ones you'd get in a house, alot more comfy.
It is nice to listen to Jo blogs working hard giving sound advice. To many people are full of bullish?… You are sensible and open to advise more people need to be like you. Enjoy your RU-vid videos keep up the good work nice to see common sense
YT is an amazing source of information and learning. I use it tons for everything from research, entertainment, films, sewing, crochet, gardening, frugality etc etc so many brilliant sources of information and all free( I would like to be a patreon supporter but no spare cash sadly) hubby has just learnt how to make home made sausages from YT as we’d like to eat better quality foods without massive costs. Love YT. And most publishers are awesome and lovely people. Stay safe x
I just tried to fix my electrics and got a big shock Ivor! Just kidding buddy - plumbing and lecky i use the pros but you make a good point about YT, great tips out there and how to's. We are way more capable than we think we are. Keep on keeping on Ivor my man.
Thanks Ivan, well done for saving yourself a lot of money by fixing your car yourself, most people don't know that most modern vehicles usually can be fixed by removing a component and replace it by a new one or "part worn" one. You Tube is a great source of instructional information and that's for sure, don't worry too much about the new mic' as your very high tec' version does a great job, lol, (it does though). Take care and all the best. Stevie
It doesn't bother me at all you walking around whilst filming. Don't worry. I think most people are ok with it. I have the opposite of videos- hey are often too quiet. I find yours qre perfect and well balanced. Good luck with all the caravan jobs. Well done!
Great work & advice thanks for sharing x I fixed my boiler through you tube so grateful to folk sharing valuable knowledge & my plumber actually recommended the channel !
Oh good luck! There are three things I won't touch. Big plumbing jobs (I can do a leaky tap), Big electrical jobs (I can wire in a light fitting or a switch plate), and anything with cars. I will retile, paint, seal things with sealant. But I get nervy about the car because I am so dependent on it. I really hope it works for you!
I am really pleased you are happy in your new home. Great tips and advice. Be great to see the improvements over time. You are very likeable. I hope you get more subscribers.
You're now "officially" a RU-vid certified mechanic. 😆 . Also, The only things that bother me about some RU-vid videos are background music. I'd rather hear someone talking about what they're doing.
You may or may not be interested but i fairly recently swapped to Octopus energy. I told them I didnt want to pay by direct debit and wanted a monthly bill. They ask ne for a reading every month and then i go and pay it at the bank. It saves any surplus money being in their account and not my own.
As you say, It's a great satisfaction when we do our own repairs as well as all the money saved. Well done on the car repair etc & the money saved from just doing a little research. Plus keep on being positive on this new journey in life, as it motivates others too. I'm hoping you will do some more ' space' saving' tips as l have a very small bungalow with a very tiny kitchen etc & i'm always looking for ideas.
Hi again, just interested in what you have been saying about your gas usage. I am fully residential and I havnt had a gas bottle on since May myself. I don't usually have one on for a few months in summer. What I do is save £100 a month for gas all the year through, because one only lasts me 2 to 3 weeks in winter. That is if I am careful, you must keep your van at a steady temperature to stop mould and damp, and turn it up as required . After 22 yrs here I am used to the way it works now, they can get very chilly in winter. Take care
Well done on repairing your car, my hubby goes on RU-vid a lot to get tips & learn how to do certain stuff. Could you spray those vents Ivan, save time painting. It will take time making it your own but you'll get there...
Remember myself and O.H. decided to repair a car ourselves, we managed to put engine together, car did start afterwards, BUT Four screws left, was a worry, but nothing happened, but did worry me , we had a M.O.T It passed
We joined the National Trust as we are retired and we have our moneys worth very quickly Great days out and cheaper if you join via NT Scotland,it also covers England. If you are a garden man there is plenty to enjoy. Take your own picnic as food is pricey. Glad you are happy in the van.
You tube helps you do lots of jobs yourself step by step wether it’s your car repairs or anything else my husband has learnt lots of things 😁👍we live in a caravan our electric was every 6 maths but last year changed to every 3 months but it’s still cheaper than electric in a house we live in a lovely site in cheshire
You mention laminate flooring throughout, just an idea for winter, could you buy lots of second hand rugs as extra floor warmth/insulation. Wishing you both a warm and cozy winter. Viewer from Dublin.
Ivan, what phone are you using? Samsung have video image stabilisation on most phones. Check RU-vid for your phone and how to set it up. May be worth a try.
I have to say I don't notice entros or anything. If a video has the content I want I don't usually care. Also, since I often have something on in the background, I often use subtitles on mute. Your videos aren't that bad compared to a lot out there. And they are helpful.
Good information Ivan, and good sense for all of us to save money where we can. An alternative thought on the gimbal (which I've seen advertised for about £80)... Have you considered one of those cheap drones, which can be instructed to follow you about amongst other things? 😎
Hay Ivan. Simply clean the plastic vents and repaint them. Be careful what netting you use. Too fine and you will reduce air flow . I know on our boat .every four years we have to have a safety check and air flow is a big issue . Must thought I should mention . Enjoy your vids mate 👍
For the vents rather than using netting you should get sheets of aluminium a4 sheets, cut them to size and put them in the vents, there is a channel called lost weekends caravan that posted up about this a week ago,it's a tourer he has but same kinda idea for the vents as in a static
Now Labour are in power our country sadly is going to get much more worse. Another great video I like the fact you keep everything real and as life is keep up the good work
Another great and informative video. Is there a website you can recommend where I can find information about small sites like the one your on? I'm looking at buying a static caravan and don't want to be on one of the bigger holiday parks or use any of the sales companies on you tube
@@narrowboatliving8241 we went to buy a static cleethorpes a few weeks ago at haven - nearly £600 ground rent a month, we wouldn’t of used half the onsite facilities and had to be out for 3 months of the year. Bought a lovely cheap caravan instead - 1 years storage cheaper than 1 months site fees.
Had to fix a cooker plug. Electrician ready to charge €250 to call up. Me dad ordered the part from England and installed it himself all for the price of a few beers 🍺🍺
My friend had a caravan and the downsize was when he sold it which he bought for12 000 and 8 to ten years later the site offered him 1000 for it they got 1st choice and with nowhere else to put it he lost it to those sharks
Have you been forced off site yet due to a time limit you can stay on site? How will the site owner know you had not been on site for months atba time without leaving? Thanks
