DoGood Rescue in Romania rescues stray animals throughout the northern Romania region, regardless of their condition. Stray animals are found with a multitude of health issues, including injury, malnutrition, pregnancy, and disease. After providing treatment and preventative measures through veterinary care, animals are sheltered at the organization’s outdoor facility in Solca, where it offers shelter through 17 dog pens and four cat enclosures surrounded by 40 peaceful acres of blueberry fields. Working with its four rehoming partners, DoGood Romania is able to place once-homeless dogs and cats into eager, loving families in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and other neighboring countries. The shelter currently houses over 200 animals. I visit DoGood Rescue and its founder Elisa to capture what a day in the life is like, rescuing dogs in a country with over 600,000 stray animals living on the streets.
