WATCH WORKING SAWMILL HERE: • Sawmilling Furring Str...
Fabricating part of the stabilizer frame - it still needs cross braces and diagonal reinforcements which I can add after the band wheels and motors are on their place so I can check that everything clears everything. The lifting system / cut depth adjustment system is made from ATM Monkey (Honda Monkey clone) old sprockets and a 25 mm round stock. I will change the sprockets and chain for new ones in the future. The 25 mm round stock / shaft feels kinda flimsy so some kind of support in the center of it would be good or changing it to a bigger diameter shaft later on. But I will see if it's needed in the future. The hand crank is temporary, also the mount I made for it. It will sit on the cross brace when I get to reinforcing the frame. But now I will start fabricating the frame for band wheels and motors. Stay tuned for future videos! Thanks for watching!

Это подъемная система для пильной головки пилы
2) What can you do with it? - Lift a saw head and adjust board thickness.

Simple, and will work well. Easy to change sprockets if you need more mechanical advantage. Remember to grease the cables.
@Crewsy
@Crewsy 6 лет назад
Looks like a great setup with the gearing to lift the weight it will eventually hold. Looks like the cable anchor points (lollipops) could be closer together so the cables will not be on the angle they’re on when the carriage is lifted causing them to rub as they get wound up.
@DonnDIY
@DonnDIY 6 лет назад
Yup, you're right. Have to play around with it a little. Maybe change the cable anchor points up on the shaft and alter the direction of cable spooling. Or if the cable starts to chip away change to motorcycle chains.

I enjoy watching your build. In your design you should hold the crank so that the weight of the lifted object won't fall back due to gravity,mind considering another gearing system that would stay put even after you release it. I'm sure you'll find ways. Thanks by the way, Great Build!,lookin' forward for more.

I wonder how difficult it might be to design/build/install a guide for the line kind of like what they have on baitcaster fishing reels? The guide moves side to side and the line passes through it so that it ensures a tight spiral around the spool.

the open bearing on the winder will quickly get fouled by sawdust and dirt a lovely job but that bearing needs a seal
@beniamintoma3553

The guide columns could be made of round pipe, to which the grating system was adapted. The metal cable is too in demand on that small diameter shaft, so a larger diameter drum was required. Good luck and like!

On that smaller sprocket. would have been nice to see a boxed area to contain oil for the chain. Chain enters one direction and submerges into the oil then enters out soaking in oil. self lubricating.

Oh to have the steel and toys to make smaller pieces out of big pieces. I have to say that if this is a first build then what comes next as your very clever. I don't think I could do as well and I have years of time in machine shops from building race cars and big boy toys. Very good so far, I can assume that your keeping a diary of sizes and bearing types/no., etc. I would use this saw when finished I do believe

the diameter of the round iron or pulley must be at least 14 times greater than the diameter of the cable so that the cable does not deteriorate prematurely, for a cable of diameter 6 the round iron must at least measure 84 mm

Saagimise ajal on päris palju vaja üles-alla kerida lõikeaparaati. Vända asemele oleks hea panna reduktoriga elektrimootor, mille otsa omakorda väiksemate pöörete jaoks(täpse mõõdu seadmiseks) teine reduktormootor läbi siduri. Kiirete pööretega tõstmisel lahutab siduri elektromagnet, lükates teise mootori eemale. Olen sellist süsteemi kasutanud hulk aastaid. Kõrguse seadmine käib päris kiiresti. Aga hea vaadata,kuidas töö ladusalt läheb.
@DonnDIY
@DonnDIY 6 лет назад
Need mugavad lisad tulevad ilmselt alles siis, kui olen saanud raami nii kaugele, et esimesed lauad lõigatud. Sama tegin kettsaeraamiga. Üks reduktormootor on olemas justnimelt selleks otstarbeks.

great project and well done, wow! but its not always clear what parts you are making for what and some points I think are skipped. Like it looked like welding in side the posts, what was that for? Maybe intentional to leave things out? but none the less what an achievement.
@DonnDIY
@DonnDIY 5 лет назад
Welding inside the posts - you're thinking of the lift mechanism and "crash cage" attachment points. As you can see the lifting mechanism is bolted on to the posts which means the nuts are inside the rectangular tubes. The top ends of the tubes will be covered in the future - how will the nuts stay in place and how can one get to them? - Thus the welding of the nuts to the inner wall of the tube.
