I could walk as baby/toddler but refused to do more than 2 steps than I quit for some months until we were on vacation on the beach. It is like I wanted the perfect location for it 😂 Plus maybe I had the rule in mind that each of my siblings and I took two months longer to walk than the one before 😂 I think my older sister started with 16 months, my brother with 18, I was 20 months old when I walked on the beach and my younger sister took 22 maybe because she didn't crawl on all fours before like the rest of us but preferred to make her way through the house by laying on her back and pushing herself with her legs 😂
Yeah, there was no attempt. I can see if she tries after the running and it doesn't work, but she didn't even try. That's like saying someone would love a Mac and cheese recipe and turns out they never tasted it. Then going, guess he didn't like it.
This was my nephew, he was 14 months and refused to walk, only wanted us to hold his hands and walk. He had an emergency and was in the hospital for 2 days. The day he was discharged he started walking like he’s been walking for months 😂😂
My daughter was over 14 months before she started walking she went from crawling to walking on her knees, her Achilles tendons were really tight and we thought she would need to have braces but luckily she started to walk before it came to that, but she would walk on her toes
I think the “how to dad” channel is mostly humor. He’s from New Zealand so it might be drier than what most Americans are used to, but I’m pretty sure most of his stuff is just tongue-in-cheek satire. I love it!

My niece walked at eight months without being helped around. I think they're just different. She had no single tooth though when she started walking... until later.

My brother walked at 7 months old. I walked on my first birthday. My friend’s daughter walked at 6 months and ended up with bowed legs cause her bones were not strong enough yet. Your kid will walk when and if they want to.
My oldest son learned to walk when we’re at a friends home & he could keep up with the other kids. But instead of just taking a few step, he got up & ran to everyone’s astonishment!
Guys…it actually does work. So my niece (first baby in the family) could stand but couldn’t walk. We were visiting my sister and me and my other sister took turns running around the living room holding our nieces hands and jogging. We did it for a while. We stopped and went to the kitchen and we turn around and she is walking towards us. Of course, her mom was pissed because now she was gonna be able to get into all types of mischief (lol)…but it actually worked. Maybe it’s something about not thinking too deeply about it that helps them get through the mechanics.
All I see here is a wonderful daddy-baby girl moment, and baby girl enjoying the ‘playtime.’ These new parents and their TUMMY TIME, TEACHING BABY TO ROLLOVER, TEACHING BABY TO WALK, whatever! Listen, outside of physical/mental impairment, the baby is going to roll over, the baby is going to crawl, and the baby is going to walk with or without you. It’s the normal progression of human growth. Bless your hearts.
That’s crazy. There’s reason why some babies want to crawl longer. This crawling or tracking stimulates that part of the brain that makes babies better readers as they grow up. To try to have them walk or run before that, is to intervene in the natural growth and development of the child.
Worked every time with the wee ones I watched. Parents were stunned and asked how I did it. That's how. Obviously parents have tried it before. Not robbing them of such special moments.
This can teach a child to lock their knees developing improper knee locking for balance. :/ The book Somattic Patterning by Mary Ann Foster speaks on this.
She might still do it dad, don't give up. Maybe she will be another day, but not right now. We all have our moods dad you just got to have patience, ok?
