That is super nice, I left mine open sides as I'm gonna continue building on to it. I'll agree with others. This is one of the nicer sheds I've seen on youtube.
Perfect shed design. Great job dudes!!! Leaning on the everlasting arms of Jesus. God bless both you and daddy!!! Priceless. God bless you both richly even more than you ask or think! I love it!!! Thankyou for posting.
You may want to put a sheet metal cap over the top of roof panels. You might get a bit of water coming in there. That could be done and still leave the ribs open for the ventilation.
I absolutely love this shed. I've been looking for a design like this for a machine shed. great video and I'll probably watch it several time when I start mine this summer!
Beautiful work gentlemen. Hat's off to the veteran builder and inspector. Retired GC and inspector myself. My mill is due to be delivered by the end of October 23. My 30 acres of big trees await for many projects similar to yours. Really good stuff, thank you for sharing your wonderful project and skill sets. 👍
Really nice shed & Awesome to be able to build it with your Dad. Don't miss any opportunity's with him. I sure miss my Dad, we built a lot together too. God Bless
Very nice building, good job.thank your dad for his help and knowledge. I lost my dad to an accident 45 years ago today. Always in my heart and memories .
Whew! You dont want to see that! I JUst have all my dried slabs in the back of my very Junk barn to keep them dry.(wherever the roof doesn't leak.) Nothing special to it. They are just stacked and standing up where they fit.
I’ve been enjoying your videos a lot and I don’t remember if I’ve commented or not because I mostly watch from the TV so if I comment I have to go to my phone or computer. I recently bought a HM126 and set it up outside, so I’m hoping to get a structure built over it before too long. Thanks for the videos and hope you can keep coming up with some good material.
That is a very nice mill shed if I ever seen one ! I have to build one I have an HM122 on its way & hoping to get it in a shed before winter, but I have so many projects some days don't know where to start lol,
Very nice sawmill shed. I'm sure it's nice to have a father with all those years of construction experience. Oh and the woodpeckers went away, wink wink.🤫
Those dang woodpeckers. Probably migrated for winter i bet. Yes he is very knowledgeable and i try to learn all i can on projects like this! Thanks for watching!
What a great sawmill building! I like the fact you can button it up from the elements. But I do have a question for you. How do you get the mill trailer in and out of the shed? I also have the Woodlander XL (long bed/trailer) and I do take it to other people's property to mill some logs for them (easier to trailer the sawmill to the logs than the logs to the mill). My own ideas for a mill building (which I haven't built yet because of 'analysis paralysis') would need a way to easily get the trailer in and out of the shed. Plans I've sketched up so far always have the end walls open so I can drive the trailer in and out...
Good video and job really nice sawmill shed. I have not built doors for mine yet built mine out of hardwood. We have huge problem with bee's eating up pine wood. Do you have that trouble where you are? Take care, be safe and well.
I forgot, yes i did have a bald face hornet problem with them eating the siding. I found the nest and blew it out of the with a 12 gauge. Problem went away.
Very nice job! Excellent Construction! Plan to build one this summer that I will put on my channel. Be careful with the gutters and a metal roof. If you get a lot of snow, it could easily take the gutter out when it slides off. I can have snow 1-2' thick on my camp roof and it will take off anything in its path. I just subscribed. Take a look at my camp walk through when you get a minute and let me know what you think. I did it all with wood off of my property.
Beautifull building. Like to know how wide your board and batten is . Im in the process of milling siding for my house . I find your woodshed just wonderfull, and thought of doing something similar. Thanks 👍👍
I live in Michigan too did they require you to grade the wood in order to use it for building? I have been considering the HD 36 and a molder. How do you like your mill and would you have opted to do anything differently in your purchase? I have been on the fence for a while now, and concerned how much time to mill it would take. The saw mill building looks awesome! How long did it take you to mill all the wood for it, was it just weekends? Did you dry the wood before building.. sorry for so many questions and appreciate any feedback..everything looks amazing, awesome job!
No wood only needs grading around here when its used for like a house. Not barns or out buildings. The mill has treated us very well. Any little issue was quickly remedied by the company while it was in warranty. Dad and i milled all the boards over a couple weekends and let dry for couple weeks. Thanks for watching!
Very clever on the door track above. I see a deep strut with a trolley set up. Did you use a track system for the bottom so the wind can't take the doors off? I like it, wish I could get my hands on a Header Beam like that! Thanks.
Have you ever thought about doing a short video on the I-gaging measuring system that you have on your mill? I have an older hm126 and the measurements read greater the closer that you get to the log bunks.
The board size stays the same. It’s the scale that reads larger as you drop the saw head. It’s because on the older saws the pointer moves and the log scale is stationary. I’m very interested in the digital readout since I’ve put one on my wood planer.
@@tombooks1410 ok, i thought you were saying you had a dogital readout and its was increasing incrementally. I was hesitant about the digital readout at first. But now my dad and I use it exclusively withoutout issue. Highly recommended one. Just take a little fab work for some brackets to mount it. Zero issue so far.
Solid brother! What kind of wood did you use for siding and for dimensional lumber inside? Did you dry it first or was it green? I'm going to be building something very similar thank you for you and your dad's hard work and inspiration 👊🏼
Nice looking shed!👏 EDIT: what do you use to move the logs on the mill? A hydraulic log turner is not a simple proposition and lifts and tractors are painful for a single person...🤔
Hi Aaron, my husband and I love your sawmill shed! Do you sell building plans for this shed? Also, how did you cut the 22' header beam above the doors, or did you buy that? Thank you & have a great day.
I dont have plans for it, though they have been asked for a lot. I might look into it. The 22 ft beam was cut on out mill. Had to do the hangover cut method because our mill only takes 16 ft 9 inch log.
@@AaronTurnwald thank you for the reply! Can you please tell us what species you used for the header beam? We really hope you offer the plans for sale!
@@laurarosekrug777 yes the beam was just a vlue spruce tree log from a neighbors tree we cut down. I wpuld have rather had white pine but the spruce was available at that length. Works just fine.
I hate that I just found this video.... I've been working slowly drawing up and designing a shed for our mill for last month or two, picking ideas from several videos. After seeing this....I'm starting from scratch first thing tomorrow. This is absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I was looking for. Don't suppose you have any drawings you'd share?
They were only doing it in in that one corner. And in the neighbors store bought lumber built garden shed, and the trim on his house. Also on 1 board on my kiln thats been built for 5 yrs.
Hook the front trailer toungue chains onto the tractor forks, pull the front end out on angle, sit it down. Move the tractor over rehook up, pull the whole mill right out. Takes about 2 or 3 minutes.
