this would have been better without mia. she got a proper voice, but not for this song she ruined it for me. to much playing with her voice just sing stop trying to play with it
This is the living proof that the music industry doesn't have a clue on what we the people love the most about true talent! These two are complete threats to ones they are handing out their awards to, their puppets records sales would suffer if these two had done anything on stage anywhere in the same zip code. I truly believe these incredibly talented and beautiful artists will and have earned it on their own merits obviously! I am always watching for new songs to buy of them. They are both amazing artists of our times! They have true, raw, emotional talent that you just can't teach someone to have that is soul-deep to the core, been waiting for something like this to come along for a while now! Bless you both on your journeys!
Watched Sawyer when he won, been listening to a lot of artists singing but always come back to him - love this duet, Mia Z is so totally unique and so is Sawyer
the more we hear these two together, the more we want to hear. I hope the friendship between them keeps going with such beautiful results for the rest of us to enjoy. and yes please do an album together, each solo, just give us more.
Mia has such a vast vocal range…..I love it how she sings one particular word in the song….When she’s GONE” the way she pronounces/sings the word gone is so unique and cool to me👍 I grew up in Chicago…I recognize her accent from somewhere but I can’t place it🤷
Please record this song, Sawyer and Mia. Sawyer, don't let the pop machine get you. Sawyer and Mia, you are the only two ARTISTS I've ever seen on a competition show. Stay true. You're both stunningly beautiful.
I'm late to the show just seen sawyer the first time on you tube yesterday and I have become an instant fan ..I have binge watched every video i could find and loved them all...the kid really has it going on...
+Spud Mckenzie welcome doesn't matter that you are late you are here thats all that matters! So glad you are enjoying Sawyers performances. thank you for watching and commenting and stay tuned more videos to come
ok - all of you who are having the teeniest doubt in the world that life is worth living --- here is the living proof. My two absolute favorites from the Voice ever - to the point that I can't watch the show anymore -together on stage live. How lucky you people who were there that night!
+xhaxha So glad you enjoyed it. I was special to be there Sawyer seemed like he was really having fun, Mia was so incredible and its always a joy being in NYC, what a convergence of awesomeness! So happy to record and share.Thank you for watching an commenting
Sawyer hasn't sung any duets at all on the Hide Your Ghost tour. The new LP will be with his band and he says no duets, just some harmonies. According to Twitter, Mia has been modeling and working on her own music projects (after dropping out of Sawyer's tour over a year ago). As far as I can tell she hasn't even been doing shows with her family's band.
I thought she dropped out due to the ailing health of her mother. I think she wanted to be closer to home. I do hope, though, these two will collaborate again in the future.
Yes, her mother's health is why she left the tour, but since then, she's been collaborating with other musicians and producers on projects not involving Sawyer. He recently said in a Q&A that he hasn't been in touch with her lately. I think they're just busy going in different music directions. But I agree that their duets and collaboration on "Stranger" were very good.
Mia is great! I wish she hadn't hit it so hard so quickly because I prefer the gradual build up, but I still gave this a big thumbs up. Love Sawyer Fredericks, he is the reason I watched.
For anyone who likes this, these two are about to go on tour together in May to promote Sawyer's full length album. Sawyer wrote a duet for Mia to sing with him. Check out "Stranger" from his EP if you haven't already. These kids are crazy talented and have great musical chemistry.
Joni, This came up just after watching Sawyer's new song Forever Wrong video and I wanted to tell you how well did videoing this. How you focused on each of them at times, then had them both in the video at the right moments. Really nicely done!
+OIAM Kim Kim your encouragement really means a lot to me can't tell you how much I appreciate it. I really want to put out content worthy of the subject so that's a really high bar hopefully I can keep improving to do justice to his/their artistry. Thank you again so very very much.
+Missy I know he loves Mia's voice and really respects her talent and artistry he is writing a new duet but has said its in its early stages so he is not sure who to partner with. Not only adorable but the talent is fantastic. To bad you never got promoted by the voice. Their loss. Your like a young Bob Dylan when he really sang. Mia is your Joan Biaz. Great way to really get out of Fonda lol know it well From Gloversville
I absolutely adore Sawyer and I love Mia's range. My only problem with her is that I can't understand her lyrics. Right now she's a great scat singer but she could be a soloist if she'd just work on her enunciation. I think this was the main reason she was voted off The Voice.
+cheryl meyer There is such a difference in the maturity of their two styles. It's not the ages of the people. Sawyer sounds like he's been singing 10 years longer and Mia's style needs another 5. Mia is over the top, not refined. I think she needs to refine, learn that "more" can ruin something that might have otherwise been beautiful. I'd like her to listen to Bill Withers. He is masterful and expressive without the excessive flourishes. Sawyer, love him. I'd love to hear him do this song on an album.
+Val Hare nicely said Val..I didn't mean to sound mean, I just don't understand a word she sings and totally don't get her style. .it's nice to meet another Sawyer fan..if anyone hasn't heard A Good Storm, please check it..it's so good and it will be on his new album
That's not all she did. I think it has a lot to do with where the camera person stood and where the sound was captured. I stood near the back of the room and at parts where they sang together I could barely hear Mia, his voice is just that huge.
