Well, as a whole you are right, but listen to Halford this year. He obviously imao have his voice chords operated and sings unbelievable and even songs like Devil`s child and Saints in hell live.

Saw them in Leeds and I had previously heard some of the album which I wasn’t huge on but when hearing them live I gained a love for some of those songs, especially Madame Guillotine and the title track. Those bass drums were earth quaking and epic, louder than any other I’ve heard, which isn’t a lot but still

First time I saw Saxon was in 1982 on their Denim and Leather tour in San Antonio, TX. They opened up for Molly Hatchet that evening. Coincidentally enough, it was the day of Randy Rhoads tragic death earlier that morning, March 19, 1982. I remember Biff Byford announcing it and the whole auditorium went completely silent, people even tearing. I had barely seen Randy Rhoads on Ozzy’s Diary Of A Madman tour approximately a month prior on February 19th on that very same auditorium.

We've accustomed to singers and guitarists doing their job well after the age of 70. But for a drummer to perform steadily like 71 years old Nigel Glockler does, is a remarkable feat. While Priest (and many other old groups) have got a younger drummer; Saxon battles on with Nigel and it really is some physical work to do. Impressive!

@@christianopreuler1876 Stimmt, finde ich auch eine klasse Geste von Ihm! 2012 habe ich Saxon das erste Mal gesehen. Zuletzt dann letztes Jahr im Capitol Mannheim (zusammen mit Rage). Aber da habe ich mich nicht getraut, meine Kutte zu werfen. Bin jetzt super froh, dass ich es diesmal gewagt habe! Saxon sind für mich persönlich die beste Band der NWOBHM, daher war das was ganz besonders. Ich wünsche dir viel Spaß \m/

War ja gestern in Dortmund. Crusader war keineswegs "People´s Choice". Für "Dalls 1 PM" oder auch "The Eagle has landed" war der Applaus weitaus lauter.

@@NKB1000 In München wurde "Strong arm of the law" gewählt. Finde sie sollten die ganzen Klassiker fest ins Programm nehmen. Ist halt ein netter Show Effekt, wenn man die Leute wählen lässt, doch eh nie ganz eindeutig für was wirklich mehr geschrien wird.

Werde am 27.03. in Dortmund sein. Da sind die Aussichten ja nicht so toll. Broken Heroes fehlt auch:-(. Der Sound ist auch nicht prickelnd. Andererseits ist Saxon (waren übrigens Anfang der 80er die erste Band, die ich live gesehen habe (Markthalle Hamburg)) ja auch nur Vorgruppe von Priest. Na ja; werde mich mal überraschen lassen.

Ich war leider sehr enttäuscht von dem ganzen Konzert. Der Sound war so grottenschlecht, dass man nicht mal ansatzweise gehört hat, welcher Song gerade gespielt wird. Hier auf dem Ksnal kommt die schlechte Qualität nicht rüber (zum Glück). Immerhin war die Stimmung trotzdem großartig

Leider nicht selten der Fall in der Festhalle - diesen alten Bunker bekommen viele Bands, ohne wirklich kompetente Leute am Ton, sehr schwer ohne Einbußen beschallt.

Ich fande allerdings das es ging! Ich saß auf dem Balkon und da war es okay (ein paar Lieder kennt man vom hören da ist es nicht so schlimm) Ich habe auch ein paar aufnahmen gemacht und da ist es auch besser. Liegt an der Festhalle, es ist dort sehr schwer gut Ton abzumischen

Sound kommt immer auf Standpunkt, Kopfhöhe und Ohren an. Erst Recht in der Festhalle! War in den 80ern aber viel schlimmer! Vorne war der Sound bei Saxon FÜR MICH gut (10. Reihe, Mitte)!
