You got that right , I found about Saxon wile researching my ancient Family of England , the album with the song Carpe Diem finding that I am a big fan of the band so very cool to hear such awesome Guitar playing and Biffs singing is so very awesome , Fantastic music.
SAXON RULES ! ! ! They never grow old they, only get better like a damned good wine. The longer they play the better they get, SAXON FOREVER ! ! ! Next friday for the +20the show. First concert in 1985, never stopt loving them. I hope they NEVER stop, I will push your weelchairs up the stage, but PLEASE keep playing guys ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! YOU ARE THE BEST !
I have LOVED SAXON since 1983 when they came to Chicagofest on the Power And The Glory tour. I was into metal but wasn't familiar with more than a couple SAXON tunes. I left that festival and The PATG cassette sounded so damn killer in my 74 NOVA.....those were great times
As an old guy I have been a huge fan of Saxon since the first album in 1979 but when I heard Wheels Of Steel I knew this band was serious metal. I have all the older stuff on vinyl up until Unleash The Beast. Back in 83 I was driving down the road in my old 68 GMC pickup and hear this kick-ass tune coming on my Blaupunkt and through my Infinity 6X9's (ha haa) It was The Eagle Has Landed and my first thought was "Cool" Saxon has a new album. Their sound is instantly recognizable. Listening to this newer stuff I can honestly say the boys never sounded better. However I like the original guitar players,I felt they had an amazing chemistry. At 50 there is no getting mellow with age,I am now into Insomnium,Amon Amarth,Solution 45 and Kalmah. Rock On brothers and sisters.
these guys are a forcd to be Reckoned with.sure theres some new bands with good songs but to me saxon is on another level of quality..and Biff hes just fucken excellent
Listening to this again now and I was/am a fan from the really old days too and I still think that for me this is one of the best tracks that they ever did ! Hail the mighty Saxon and ........... love the recent collab with AMon Amarth and the new album Hellfire & Damnation is decent too ................... Biff ........... he still got it after all these decades ! oh yeah
James Evans Oh you're so right..every damned place..with its piped-in crap fest of manufactured garbage music. It grates me to my last nerve man when people like you correctly stated dislike this but flock to that like flies around shit.
When I first heard this song I was amazed how modern and heavy sounded Saxon today. If the voice wasn't so unmistakably Byford's, I'd never thought this is Saxon. I was on their concert back in '82 as a 12 yrs old kid. Back then this music was called "new wave of British heavy metal" and we just loved it.
Paul Quinn is the best heavy metal guitar player, in my oppinion. This is because he mixes creative solos with unique riffs, besides having a metalic sound.
The only one except almighty Biff that could sing like this at this age was Ronny James Dio. With that said, the awesomeness of this song and vid will haunt my dreams forever; all hail SAXON!!!
saw them 2017 & 2018 in Baltimore. both shows epic as hell. saw them at jaxx all the other times.. the md sounstage gig had to be the most intense metal energy pumping gig i ever saw. when i walked out of there my Brain was smokin with saxon energy overload. you just had to be there and well i guess its what u get out if it.somebidy might say saxon yeah tight gig theg rocked.to me it was much much more than just a ok gig..it was Phenomenal. hope i can see them again soon.check iut the saxon inspiration album and biffs side gig and Heavy water his sons band he plays on.red brick city.its sludgey and very cool
I am lucky enough to have seen these guys twice. First time at Download festival last year and second time some days ago at Rock City in Nottingham. These guys definitely know how to rock. Great music, great lyrics, heavy metal at its purest form! And they also respect their fans! After a 2 hours show they came outside of the venue to communicate with their fans!!! Long live Saxon!
Speechless. Saxon fan since 'Strong Arm of the Law' and this band is almost more reliable than anything I know in my life a s being consistent over the decades. The best Yorkshire - England's pride. My personal will - Bury me with my Saxon Vinyl, CDs and DVDs. They are the chroniclers of my life and I will be a humble and grateful fan till the day I breathe my last. A wonderful discovery in my life and eternally glad for it. Saxon forever esp. Biff and Quin but shout outs to Carter, Scarratt, Glocker, Durham, Gill, Johnson (from Destiny) and especially to Oliver and Dawson (old and original) and Frit Randow and Jorge Michael who injected much needed blood into Metahead and Lionheart. Love every incarnation of Saxon. Proud to be a Saxon fan...forever.
I'll be seeing them in Oklahoma City tomorrow night! I'm leaving directly from work in the afternoon and driving 5 1/2 hours to make it happen and most likely arriving back home at the break of dawn, but I really don't care, because, goddammit, SAXON!!!
Man, Biff's voice is in really good shape. Easily one of the best and prolific metal bands out there. I'd really love to see how other bands could top this.
cool vid, awesome song. Cool chunky powerfull riffs, great section after the solos just hits ye in the guts, cool chorus, plenty of drum fills. Love this track spot on saxon and cheers for such a brill song. Looking forward to getting the album.
always loved Saxon & their music, can't wait to see them tomorrow at The Phoenix, Sept 15, with Fozzy opening up, oh & Helloween concert Sept 28 at The Opera House :)
