"Suzie Hold On" is track 8 on Saxon's 1980 album "Wheels of Steel".
I think that this might have been the very fist Saxon song I ever learned, when the Wheels of Steel album came out. And it's a killer song. Saxon at their most melodic, but still with a crushing wall of guitars.
I've added a note of the main chords throughout the song, in the video for you to follow. There are slight variations on the A chord in the bridge, but playing an basic A should get you through it. I've noted the actual chords shapes/names, rather than their actual pitch as the song is not in standard 440 pitch.
Tuning: the tuning is "almost" down a full tone to D standard, but not quite! It's between Db and D. You'll have to tune by ear to the album to get it dead on.
The original solo on the song is a dual harmony line, played by both Graham Oliver and Paul Quinn. In this video I just played a version of this on a single guitar as I did the song in one pass.
The guitar is a 1981 Hamer Graphic Special. Played through my Mooer GE-150. Set on the "Plexi 100" setting, with a TS in from. Direct from the Mooer to my Focusrite interface, into Ableton.
Thanks as ever for watching.
