Hello again Dave. How's the sax holding up? I love unboxing videos, especially yours. Back for a third time on this one😁 You're funny, smart and talented🎷👍
Hey SVS thanks! It's holding up fine. I haven't been jamming or gigging with it so much because my friend has been borrowing it for the last several months. It has some rust and corrosion on a post and spring or two, but that's what you get with unlaquered horns and cheap springs. It still plays great and paid for itself (unlike my efforts on youTube or my latest album so far, check out bajic.bandcamp.com/album/b-a-j-i-c-vol-1 ).
I love your presentation and unpacking videos. I ordered a tenor saxophone from Aliexpress yesterday because I'm cheap and I enjoy good value more than most people😁I was able to knock the price down to $350, free shipping😳 I'm pretty sure I'll like the saxophone, my worry is that it'll be damaged in the mail. You're a great saxophone player man👍👍👍
@@SaxPedalGuy I've looked at quite a few videos on Chinese saxes, yours was definitely the most useful. At the moment I'm playing "pocket saxophones", the Zebra Bb and the HiXing C, both from the same guy, although through different sellers. I just wanted something other than a blues harp as a second (fourth) instrument when jamming. I'm a singer, playing bass, rhythm, or drums if needed, but sometimes there can be 5 guitarists at a jam, so I'd usually play bass if there's none, but I wanted something a bit different. Now I want a real saxophone though, it'll freak the guys out when I pull out a tenor sax! 😁
@@Dave-Rough-Diamond-Dunn Totally, people love unexpected sax. My best advice is have fun. My next best advice is to get to know a repair guy. This tenor played alright upon arrival but much better after a few minor adjustments from a tech.
@@SaxPedalGuy Yeah, I'm wishing I had someone in the know now. There's a Norton tenor sax at the pawn shop for $400, they retail at $1500, but it still looks like a Chinese sax to me, same engraving. For comparison, the cheapest Chinese tenor online is $600aud, so it's probably a good deal if there's no problem with it, but I just can't tell. All I could do was press the buttons and check for leaks with a light, it looks okay, but what do I know? No mouthpiece, so I can't even blow it. Decisions decisions! Your video helps, but I'll be paying off a loan for six months, so I want to make the right choice. :)
