He's the type of artist that can make you believe every word he sings. Its inspirational. When he sings, you feel all of his emotions. There needs to be more artists out there like this.
I like listening to a lot of musical artists play their songs acoustically, but none of them can make me feel their emotion and excitement like how Max Bermis can.
This is one of the most genuine performances ever caught on camera. This is back in the days of taking himself probably more seriously than he needed to. I'm sure it made it harder to be around him back then, but it definitely translated in being extremely invested in every song and performance. It's like he's thinking of what every line means to him as he sings them. I could go on lol. It toes the line of a sort of arrogance, but the song is honest and personal enough for that not to bother me. Basically all three of these acoustic performances are beautiful and I would say impossible to recreate now.
I seriously sing harmony with this song alone in my room, dreaming that me and him are actually singing together...these songs have always kept me going. I fucking love Say Anything. Nuff said.
theres zero doubt in me he helped foster in me the super sweetheart I became. the makings were there, but songs like these helped shape it as we got older. to stave off the cold lovelessness alot of people come at you with to shut you down.

To be honest, i like both of those bands, don't llisten to them quite as often as other music, but there shits catchy, and i can't deny it. i listen to everything.
it doesnt matter how easy the song is, it matters how it sounds, and how it effects peoples emotions. and this song sounds amazing and makes me think of the person i love.
MAX is an musical genious. so much passion and thought go into writing a great song, but he blew this one out of the water its freakin amazing gets to the point but still hides something--simply perfect
The tongue flick that he does, or the tick you're referring to, gives certain letters a certain distinct sound, which helps separate him from other vocalists. Very nice trick indeed :).
THIS is real music. You know how I know? It actually gets better with every listen...regardless of the amount of times. That's how you know Say Anything surpasses anything we here on the radio or so-called "Music Television"

I do belive that Mr. Maxim Bemis is my most favorite of all human beings. And Say Anything is my absolute favorite band. I don't even know what to say about this song because it's obviously just breathtaking.
This is so great. I've been downloading a bunch of Say Anything outside my house from my neighbors WiFi, and I dance and spin and tap my feet in what people looking at me think is silence, haha.
Probably because Max Bemis is fucking adorable, and talented on top of that. Talented just like every one else in the band. I'm a female fan, but I listen to Say Anything because of the lyrics, and the passion he puts into them. I won't lie, Max is adorable, though.
he does have a lot of mental issues, but I think that's what gives him the ability to make such beautiful music. I know he has bipolar disorder, and the anxiety, beyond that I know of nothing. but tormented people make the most beauty. :)
I wouldn't call them crappy... But yeah, generic they are. Max really makes Say Anything, and I don't say that to disrespect everyone else in the band, but he writes the music and lyrics and everything... And it's beautiful. It's catchy, it's accessible, but at the same time, it's so different. He always tries something different. Always sings about something different. And that's why Say Anything is my favorite band.
max is such an inspiration on me. he strives to get better and improve morals, which i love. max bemis = legend. p.s. this song makes me want to be nice to everyone
@SashimiSayu People look up when they're trying to remember something.. there's a psychological background to it. Like, for instance, when someone looks up and to the left, they're often remembering visual images and when they look down and to the left, they're remembering sensations.
i love this song and say anyhthing is great i wouldnt say all there songs are basic chords cause i see basic as like C,Am,G and all that but it is pretty easy to play
