Vid about Lloyd Dobler & Diane Court from one of my all time favorite movies Say Anything... Music: In Your Eyes By: Peter Gabriel COPYRIGHT OF MUSIC AND FILM BELONG TO RESPECTED OWNERS, NOT ME
cinema had lost its vision ..or we can say that they had progressed ..that happens with everything in human history ..we just turn something sweet into something complex over time
There was a really cool article about why they can't really make movies like this anymore is because of availability. Once email, cellphones, and texting became normal a lot of the plot devices that made films like this possible became obsolete.
@sarahiszename you’re right, romance movies were awesome back then, and now all we get are the cringy Twilight films and The Fifty Shades films honestly 🙄
Elvire B totally fell in love with Diane court, I'm sure you will agree, Say anything was a rare movie about teenage love struggles and carries a special tag of originality, too this day, I was 17 when it was released in 1989, It was great to be that age with this gem around.
John almost didn't do this movie cuz he didn't want to do another teenage movie and it is an absolute classic. Makes me cry every time. I personally I think it is his best work
John Cusack is so perfect in this role, our Generation X crush. I've had a Lloyd whistle outside my bedroom window to wave goodnight to my dad's annoyance. I had a different Lloyd wait for hours in pouring rain outside my workplace after a fall out. I finally appreciated my current Lloyd my husband late in life when I had sense to stick with the good MAN.
I just love this movie and wished that these two actors got together as a couple in real life...they had great chemistry and it really shows through out this movie
I LOVE THE KICK BOXING SCENE... WHEN HE WHISPERS...I LOVE YOU! I USE TO REWIND THAT SCENE OVER AND OVER BECAUSE HIS VOICE SOUND LIKE IT WAS POURING OUT LOVE.... HE WAS SO IN LOVE WITH HER 😍😢💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Such a memorable 80's movie especially the boom box scene is the most memorable from this great movie. Great song that i could listen to over and over again
You have to learn how to dump shitty men asap in order to work your way to your Lloyd dobler. It happened to me when I was fat at 37. Two kids and 12 years later - still just as happy and romantic.
i have just watch this movie for the first time 20mins ago and now is june 2021 , can you guys believe it =))) And now reading your comment 6 -7 years ago ... i dont know why but it makes me feel hilarious
I will always love this movie. I was about 8 or 9 when this came out. Unforgettable,in my opinion. Wasn't this the same year as "Johnny be good" came out? Beautiful song, and classic movie.
This movie is a tear jerker a bit. Really good acting, the way they kiss and embrace. And good directorial pacing as well. I've geared up on five different occasions viewing this flick.
+Pill Harmonic I've been advising this Christian girl in finding a soul mate and our Lord spoke to me last night about Lloyd Dobler and what you just said, what makes this movie so great, it's Lloyd's kind of love for Diane, it's pure as you just said, he's not hungry for Diane for himself but for her. You've come a long way in this world my friend.
TrustInJesus111 I just thought it was cute and endearing the way he confessed about wanting to win over Dianne court. And when he walked behind her as her father was taking her graduation photo. And upon getting to know him, she wasn't used to being asked out, so she'd just sort of tolerate his budding intensity and right away he was having dinner with her family, like she was a bit of a deer in headlights.
Pill Harmonic I concur with your assessment completely. It's a rags to riches story where Lloyd turns the tables on Diane and she becomes the pauper without him. Her internal conflict giving her Savior a pen as a parting gift was picturesque. Ione Skye really played that scene off well. In every relationship the person wanting the relationship the most is operating from the position of weakness, and when she finally realizes who Lloyd is and comes at him he is once bitten twice shy, but his unconditional love for Diane fills in the gaps of his wariness. The one in the power position changes throughout the movie. I asked my high school teacher Jeanette Bennett out on a date, asked her to a concert. She was gracious in her refusal, I felt like a King. Did you see the movie Being There with Peter Sellers? Sometimes we just wander into greatness.
TrustInJesus111 no never saw this movie. kind of took it that she was never seemingly bitten thrice shy, and he was bruised but would take on the first bite himself. without using her.
Love this! All the essential scenes are compiled into the length of the song. Thanks for making this! I hope you can make more of other classic movies like this.
This is the best thing I have seen. I love this movie and this song. You did an amazing job getting the highlights of the story. Wonderful arc of scenes that flow with the song. Kudos. This is favorited and shared an facebook. Thank you for making this, true fans always make the best videos.
THANK YOU for putting this together!!!!!!! I love this movie and Ive had so much trouble finding these clips on youtube. I can't even find the boombox scene or the ending scene on the plane. You are awesome! :)
