When you rent an apartment with these, ask your landlord if they can remove them PRIOR to you moving in. It’s also critical you get something stating that they removed them (an email works fine). Then just hang up regular curtains and spend $25 - buy all the stuff from Big Lots (if there’s one near you). Boom. No damage to the vertical blinds and way less spent.

The vertical blinds look better and provide more privacy. Little story - my first apartment had curtains in it instead of blinds. We didn't realize we could just ask for blinds, so thought we were stuck with the curtains. Well, turns out those curtains were *very* thin and see through. We gave our neighbors quite a show in the bedroom before we found out we could have blinds instead. Blinds are way better.

Some people prefer the look and feel of curtains but it’s challenging to address this when living in a rental. Most rental units will not allow removal of blinds and a person risk some of their security deposit for making holes required for standard brackets. Our special brackets mount to the existing blind head rail so no holes in the walls and can be removed when the individual moves. Thanks for your comment.

I’ve never had blinds until our current apartment. Always had curtains. Hated them ! I love being about to pull the blinds up and down and that’s IT. No washing curtains. My 300 houseplants get all their light and yea. Under $150? That’s like a $30-$50 project lol

Geez! They used rod pocket panels that provided less privacy and far less ease of use than the vertical blinds. More practical choice should have been grommet panels.

In most rentals tenants are not allowed to remove the Vertical Blinds or make holes in the walls that standard curtain brackets require. They used our no drill bracket attaches to the existing blinds. It’s a great solution for renters that want the look and feel of curtains. Thanks for your comment.

Made my own curtains, saved alot of money. Also was able to use the saved money to buy sheer panels to place between thick, no sunlight visible material. Sew your stuff girls. Its really a lost art.

I’m changing curtains to blinds lol. Definitely will save on dry cleaning fees and cupboard space. Also you can get nice curtains for $20 from IKEA.

Personally I love vertical blinds. 1. They are vertical and don't hold dust as well as horizontal blinds do. 2 The curtains used give opportunites to show the inside when the AC or heat kick on. 3 I have allergies and fabrics hold dirt and bad odors. I will stick with my verticals for health and safety reasons.

CB2 curtain rods can run $30 and up. AllModern Curtains can range $30 per panel. The NoNo brackets runs around $19. The price of this project would range depending what brand curtains and rods you use. The main thing is not making holes in the walls which comes with renting an apartment. Our brackets range in price from $14 to $19. She decided on a rod from CB2 and curtain panels from All Modern. There are other price options for different budgets so a project like this could cost much less. Thanks for your comment.

It is just the choice in rods and material that really affect price. The brackets (under $20) make it so you do not need a drill or deductible damage to the wall.

I used the nono brackets recently in New apartment. They were very easy to install. I'm using white semi sear curtains so that I can keep blinds in the open position and still have privacy. The blinds themselves are really hard to open all the way plus some of the blinds don't open all the way which I can't stand. In your video you mentioned that you removed some of the blinds and kept in storage so that u could have more light. My question is how many of the blinds panels did you remove and how did you space it out. Thanks in advance if u receive this

Cornice. That's an architectural piece at the top of this window used as part of the window treatment. A valance is that short, cloth curtain piece that goes across the top of the curtains that is straight, shirred, even looped on a curtain rod.
