Sometimes it’s better to just not rescue against dw. She has one of the most powerful anti rescues in the game (being able to face camp and guard at the same time), so if a teammate falls and gets put in the basement or falls before 2 ciphers remaining, just dont rescue (unless you rescue from balloon or you rescue from the chair immediately) at all
Great guide as always Mellow! Although, as a funny side bit when you mentioned about DW's weaknesses and survivors, I think you forgot to mention Enchantress and her deal with DW. So, for those who main her but hadn't went against her and her leeches (as a fun fact): the number of stuns change whenever DW is on a new follower or her spawn. This mostly counts the fact that it's all different hunters, and although you may have like 2 - 3 stuns against 1 follower, you might have 0 on the other. Enchant works p well in creating distance, though most skilled DWs would always want a new follower (leech) to chase after her cause she can't have any curses charged, thus making it easier for her to be downed. I'm not sure if it's changed so that ALL followers are 1 hunter no matter what, but she can work well with creating distance much like the others- just... A little finicky with her curses, haha. (Also I didn't?? knew you can juke the patroller?? holy shit this is news to me LOL, ty for that cause I sure as hell dont like patrollers and how much of a pain it is to go against ;v;)
Ooooooh! I never knew about that! I thought she was weak against Dream Witch since I thought that, if she stunned one follower, the hunter can just switch to the other. But honestly, I never use Enchantress outside of Tarot so I don't know everything about Enchantress. 😅 But that is really good to know!
Hey, DW main here. I use patroller early game, fast downs+ multiple patrollers for each leech and main body. After that survivor has been eliminated, or is kiting for long, I switch to blink.

I honestly didnt know that dropping pallet or vaulting it can nullify you from the patroller's stun (another thing I noticed from the tournament's play is that sometimes you can even nullify it if you dropped from the 2nd floor but perhaps it also need a perfect time to be done as well) and it actually has a timer for it to happen by 5 seconds each, I thought it's just random. This is such a new info, thanks a lot Mellow, your guide always is useful!

I'm a hydra rank Dream Witch. I have played her for a very long time. This is a nice guide! I will add a bit of perspective though, as someone who plays on PC, it is very difficult to counter a PC Dream Witch patroller because of the accuracy PC gives you. I have played against a lot of great survs who made very respectable plays but just couldn't get past the accuracy of PC controls. Alongside this, it would be rare to see Seer in most DW matches as she usually bans him, and most skilled DW aren't going to patroller a Gravekeeper, rather they will blink (a well-timed blink can actually stop him from getting underground on a shovel if you hit right before). This is definitely helpful for people who have 0 clue at all what to do against DW, but in higher tiers it's going to be a challenge unless you have a voice team with good communication -- DW particularly has been helped a lot by the new hunter traits (charge attack speed, attack recovery against stunners, etc).
A nice guide Mellow! But just giving a complement, you forgot to talk about Enchantress, well, as a B badge i fighted a lot of Dream Witches, and some things that you forgot is that she's also pretty good to create distance, she has a different number of stacks to each follower, experienced Dream Witches will probably send a new follower to you, but it's an extra job for the hunter to use new followers to chase you, and other thing is that Enchantress can counter follower's patroller, just one stack forces the hunter to get out the control mode and put the skill on cooldown, other tip that are more general that is not that effective in higher ranks but might be very helpful for lower ranks, is to let the follower 99%, so if your teammate is getting tied in a balloon by your parasite follower, you can simply end and rescue your friend PS: I would love to see a guide to kite Wax Artist, because he can be very annoying when people know how to use him 😅
A tip that I recommend is to 99% your leech removal and prime it. That way, you can waste more of the hunter's time since they'll have to run all the way back towards you to re-leech you. Similarly, if the hunter picks up a ballooned survivor with your leech, you can remove it for a free rescue!

Well you can cancel a patroller if the follower is the one using it and not the mother, Just stun her. Sometimes if her leech is on cool down she will try you to terror shock you by using patroller if your next to a window or pallet BTW if you hear the dog bark means she cancel her patroller and hit

If this guide was meant for basic tricks and tips for beginners to get then i understand the purpose but most of the things being said here will not help people enough with dream witch. Against a actual good one, they will not miss their patroller or simply get countered by transitioning kitting this theyre experienced with their hunter and know how to deal with it. I feel like most of the things said here are basic but also you dont mention how good her map control is and how important it is for good communication for deleeching and many other things that were never mentioned in this video. Its a basic guide but for someone who is really trying to play better against dreamwitch there are better guides and tips. No hate towards you.
That is really good feedback! ❤ Well, this video was only for teaching people who struggle kiting Dream Witch how to kite her, so it's only about kiting and none of how to counter her and such. So with all those things left out, yes, it is basic 😅 and in the end is going to be one since it's only to kite her and not counter.
i got DW’s Drakina(or something) skin but I don’t have DW, and don’t want to play her because she’s too difficult to play for me, but the skin looks so good 😭
