It's so incredibly amazing to me how - during a time when there was virtually none of the pleasures we take for granted today - anyone could come up with such complex pieces of music; weaving major's and minor's, minor harmonic scales, solos done in octaves, single string solos... Those sweeping scales... It's mind boggling. And to imagine how truly tough life was for most people... Where he found the inspiration for such beauty -

The most accomplished virtuosity (combined with musicality) I have EVER seen. It is very probable that Paganini himself couldn't play it (especially the cadenza) in such a breathtaking, perfect way.

In old youtube version of her Paganini's violin concerto no.1, she was 16 years old,just after she won in the Paganini international competition. Here,she was 27 years old.

私は庄司さんのbasicなファンであると任じています。庄司さんのビバルディのRichterバージョンでは無く、オリジナルの四季の全演奏が聴きたいと切望しています。こんな何千万分の一のファンの声は届かないのでしょうが、極めて切迫した希望ではあります。Sutle nuance of each individual life に想いが届く庄司さんだと思いコメントしてみました。ストラディバリは少し大き過ぎるのかもですが、私はストラディバリを弾かれている時の音色、庄司さんの感情移入が取り分け好きです。ヘルダーリンの詩とハイデガーの存在と時間を齧って頂けたら嬉しいなと思います。 何にせよ、比類の無い宝石の様な若い演奏家であると思っています。

Definitivamente este concierto es uno de los mejores que he escuchado en cuerdas, creo que insuperable el sentir sublime que genera la primera parte hasta el minuto 4, es lo mejor sin duda alguna .... no hay mas sentimiento tan emancipado e invencible, es realmente un aura magnetica, para la buena suerte, es sin duda lo mejor de toda la historia,,, es lo mejor, paganinni no podria haber sido mejor que esto.

A wonderful performance by Sayaka Shoji as usual. Bravo!! A few observations: The conductor loses his place at 8:51 and the soloist is forced to adjust her tempo to accommodate the error; there are only 2 basses but 3 trombones; the cadenza is by Emile Sauret; Ms Shoji's harmonics in double stops in the third movement are exceptional except for a few glitches here and there; the orchestra part is very easy but it is very difficult to align all the entrances with the soloist because of all the rubato in the solo part.

Wikipedia. Over the years - the music was re-written for the orchestra in D Major. Would love a professional violinists view on whether the difference would be noticeable, or indeed whether purists would prefer the original E flat Major vs D Major version Orchestra accompaniment
