Also keep this mine: What is the best punch to throw when someone is trying to grab you? An uppercut. What is the least thrown punch when someone is trying to grab someone? Yup, the uppercut!!!! Why? To throw the uppercut you have to move IN to the action and your nervous system is designed to make you move AWAY from danger. You must "override" the nervous system to do what is best in a street fight. Understand?
It took me a while to build up my speed with the gloves on my hands it felt so weird but without them im super quick but with the gloves on i just had to get usto to the feel. its not the same as without your gloves off
There IS a difference between the 2, but people usually do not throw "precise" anything in the street even when they do it in the gym. I have seen "precise" hook artists get body slammed.
After I blocked bout 3 mo punchs and lip still split ta da white meat, My conscious finally kicked in an my panic mode STOPPED I thought ta myself stop doubtin my speed and power.. from that point on anytime his foot made a move he caught a hook and i was back outta his range.. His confidence shrunk and i noticed it immediately, he gave up cuz he was mentally stomped..
For sure, both the disciplines would help with the issue of grabbing. At least the basics since most people simply do not want to put the work in. Good comment.
great video i couldnt have said it better myself you are right about moving back you will get hit moving back mr williams used to slap the heck out of me he always said jab going back duck and then pivot jab right hand pivot jab uppercut left hook as for the grappling after getting slammed around i had to sign up for judo and miyama ryu juijitsu and it has helped me overcome the fear of the grapple what are your thoughts on defending the muay thai plumb??? i feel the judo ogoshi goruma works as always its a pleasure Egbesu
Thank you for another fantastic video. May I humbly request a video regarding how to SAFELY headbutt? Is there a way to practice head butts without losing brain cells? Thank you!
Very useful advice, all boxing coaches are saying the exact same thing. The biggest challenge for a beginner is getting rid of fear of getting punched.
Here is a video which shows most of the things you were talking about. Grab, circle, punch him hard in the mouth to defuse aggression. The quality of the attacker isn't very high, but the concepts are still on display... /watch?v=Jb3vipElPQ4 Search Title; Crazy Street Fighter Challenges Muay Thai Instructor
good video saff... got to get those angles you should do one on takedowns and takedown defense for street fighting... also clinch work(what you can do in the clinch offensively and how to escape the clinch) keep them coming man.
I move but pivoting has always made me a little bit nervous..like pivoting and stillgetting hit right there... usually I'd go back then around..but how do the pivots work?
